many noticed some issues trying to get onto the site yesterday, Friday, Aug 3. Seems the server was hit with a DDoS attack. That's where they load up all the unprotected computers around the world and then have them all try to get onto a specific server to try and overload it and bring it down.
The attack started Friday evening and ran for a couple hours till they were able to overcome it. As of Saturday morning, all appears OK again, although you may have experienced a hiccup as you first logged on and your machine pulled up the contents of the cache rather than new data.
An inconvenience to us. Make sure you're grandma is running some form of virus protection. Amazing how many people still don't use it.
