Only 620 Lbs heavier than the aluminum and about 1000 Lbs lighter than my 18' enclosed trailer.

A much lighter more fuel efficient vehicle could haul an unloaded trailer that only weighs 1800 lbs....

I have towed 4500 lbs on a 7K lb twin axle flatbed from S. Carolina with just our Crown Vic....and a class 3 hitch...running 75mph with no problem.

22mpg with the diesel, and I'm sure even with that trailer, it would get 19ish. Maybe more fuel efficient getting there, but not so much on the way back. Just because it's been done, doesn't make it safe.....

The Crown Vic Police Interceptor / Sport with tow package is factory rated for 5,000 lbs....
