nice pics

good job MP on the pics,SCOTTY almost got her fired up .....just for safty practice though remember your saftey glasses when grinding please, it doesn't take much to damage those eyes that God gave us! Leo;)

That was a fun gathering. Got a lot done in a very short time overall. Thanks for lunch Scott and for showing me how those nice corrugated steel hoses work. Once the body is on it seems like these cars take on a whole new sense of urgency. One thought for you, even though the frame is extremely rigid, don't try to fully line your doors up until the wheels are on the ground if you get that far along.

Wanted to say thanks again guys! (I know can't stop saying it)...

Great pics Mark.

Leo - thanks for the OSHA safety reminder. I was wearing my prescription eyeglasses Saturday which is not normal for me in the shop. Normally wear safety glasses or the whole face shield when grinding.

Good pointers Tom. I haven't tried to put the doors on yet. As a matter of fact, haven't touched it since Sat. nite when I finished installing the bolts on the drivers side of the body.

BTW - my DS door hinge is not clearing the body right now, is it feasible that there needs to be spacers between the frame and the hinge to get clearance, or do I need to trim some of the body flange off at the door opening? I remember this being the case when the kit first arrived (the door hinge was hanging up on the drivers side.

There is a new sense of urgency with the body on, but it actually helped calm me down with having to get it done. Now that the car is mostly all in one piece, I can focus on a few small items when my time allows...and if it doesn't then it is still shippable now. But I will get it running in the next few weeks - have no fear!

i think that with the body on your frame it will relax as much as u, the shell tends to want to seek a level on its frame and once it gets the chance with natural heat from God's green earth she will bake and flex for real good fitting after a couple of road runs i think then i would start fitting the body...but thats my free cents!
would u be able to climb under the front of ur new body and frame and get me a dimension from the body nose to the beginning of the 4" tube...? just think how much closer u could get to those nice wheels mmmmmmmmmm...Leo

As I recall your flanges were left pretty wide. Here's a shot of mine with the door open. For reference, the flange only needs to be wide enough to accommodate the "U" shaped trim that goes over the opening.
