I meant to post a link to my Road America pictures from this year about 3 weeks ago but forgot until this morning. The weather was perfect in Wisconsin. Photobucket posts everything backwards so there are pictures from the Harley Davidson museum first. There was vintage Corvette racing this year that brought out some great cars. There was also some interesting tricks I saw in the pits that I have never noticed before like placing a bar on plug in brackets at the front and rear to pull fishing line down the sides to check alignment. If you look closely at a couple of the Porsche's you can spot the reel hanging by line at the front of the car.

I really missed going last year but there was no way I could do it. It's a good watch from the couch but there is nothing like being there where even the slower class is hitting 170's on the straights. I had told my dad that we old sick guys could plant our chairs and canopy at turn 5 that we have always treated as base camp. Turned out that Dad was too sick to go and Andy rented me a golf cart so he and Linda wouldn't have to worry about me overdoing it. He didn't tell me about it until we were well underway which was a great surprise and made it possible for me to see parts of the track that none of us had ever been to before. I don't think I ever want to attend a multiple day event without a cart now. You drive your seats, shade and cooler anywhere you want to :).

Well, that is awesome! I may have to buy one now since I have the truck that has enough guts to tow the trailer and a cart :D Hope Dad get's better.

Great photos, I really like those mid 60s vettes.
Road America is outrageously fast, 2 straights over 3/4 miles long each,I was reaching 172 mph on the 600 and the 1000cc bikes were approaching 200 approaching turn one.I have also visited turn 5 sand trap more than once as well.
Tom, if you get the chance and haven't been to Barber Motorsports Park and visit the museum there, especially if you enjoy old motorcycles, its worth the drive just to see the museum even if there is nothing else going on in Birmingham Alabama.
