So, who is going to signup for RNG this year? Count me in!:D

As of right now, I plan on participating and doing the RNG experience this year. I kind of hope they add the autocross in place of the drags.

I would like to do an autocross event also. But with the new addition to the family due two weeks before, it may be tough to get out of the house. (But I plan on trying)

Guys, there has always been autocross. Never a year without it and it even runs in the rain like has happened 2 of the last 10 years. No drags should mean extra track time or maybe an extra autocross session.

Did they have AutoCross for the RNG Experience last year? I thought it was some limited track time and then Drags.

Mark or Tim would have to answer that, I don't remember if they did or not. I would think that it should be part of the R&G experience since it's part of the overall event. Without a drag day there should be plenty of time to cycle everyone through the autocross course, even the "experience" group.

I'll be there again this year.

2007 was great, but I missed last year due to some health issues.

The folks that I talked to that attended last year said that last year was even better than 2007, and that was a tough act to follow. I liked the drags, but most of our cars are not set up to do full out runs safely if something untoward happens, so not having it this year probably had something to do with that. Maybe they might consider 1/8 mile runs rather than the full 1/4 mile.

I hope to see some familiar faces again, and make some new friends at Run 'n Gun this year. Remember "It's not REALLY about the cars, it's about the people!" as Jay is fond of saying.

Tom, I saw Mike at last years LCS and we both missed you being there. Please say "Hi!" to your lovely bride for me, but don't remind her of the "slighly damp" ride you folks had coming into Columbus from St. Louis in 2007. I still can't believe that your wives were still talking to you and Mike after that trip. ;)

The RNG Experience included the follow the leader laps on the road course and three passes down the drag strip. Since the drags are no longer, too fast for safety, I'm sure autocross will now be included.

Roush - Yes, the event was really good last year, but I have nothing to compare it to. I had a lot of fun just hanging out in the garage and pits. Learned a lot on the track too. I'm told there were more vendors there than in years past. The GCC is hoping to get more involved this year to hopefully run the event and make it even better. I'm sure there will be some growing pains though. Hope to see you there.

Hey Dave, Not sure how I missed this post but Welcome to our little group! We were in London last year, don't know how we missed talking with you. 07 was a wet year on the way up and on the way back but the girls hung in well and understand that it's just part of the Cobra experience. Linda ripped a leg on "her" rain pants at one stop when we knew we were in for a downpour and I was having a good laugh until I discovered that she had grabbed mine by mistake. Mike had duct tape at the ready and we soldiered on. We learned on that trip to never stop under an overpass. I think you saw all the garbage that the trucks back-washed into the cars, what a mess. At least the hotel manager told us that we could park under the overhang out front for the night and it gave us a chance (about 5 hours) to clean them up. We're not planning to do London this year but hope to see you in October.

I see Mark has a garage space reserved, anyone else want a space or share a space? I kind of thought about getting one. Saves a lot of steps and is closer to the bathroom, there's shade, and cover if rain. See this link - http://www.runngun.net/images/2009 garagesgateway.pdf - let me know, I plan to reserve the spot next to Mark.

I never had before, but I think I might this year. If you want to share one that would work out fine. UNLESS, you plan on being fast enough to be in the same grouping;):D

Not unless you installed a big block Brandon! :D

No. No. Young grasshopper, remember they changed last year, groupings are based on times not what you have under the hood. And Btw, it is not how big it is it is how well you use it:D:D

I believe classifications have changed again. From the Rule Book:

B) GT 1 ALL Vehicles under 2000 lbs
C) GT 1/A ALL Vehicles under 2000 lbs and naturally aspirated
D) GT 1/B ALL Vehicles under 2000 lbs with a power adder
E) GT 2 ALL Vehicles over 2001 lbs
F) GT 2/A All Vehicles Over 2001 lbs and over 400 Cubic Inches
G) GT 2/B All Vehicles Over 2001 lbs and UNDER 399 Cubic Inches
All the above classes (GT1, GT2, and GTP) will have sub-classes; Street, Prepared and Pro. For example, a small block cobra replica with slicks is a GT 2/B Pro. The same car with street tires would be a GT2/B Street. Power adders will be allowed in all GT2 classes. Race Directors will determine run group of each vehicle based on initial timed runs.

I believe you would be in classification G sub class Prepared (didn't you run slicks on your last year?) and Mark and I in classification F, sub class Street.

After your classification is made, then time will come in to play, I think.

Correct - in fact preliminary times will serve to adjust class even further. (Street, Prepared, Pro) If you bring a full-blown race car to the event and insist on running Street Class because you brought street tires - but you are running times closer to Pro class group - you will be placed in the Pro class - you just brought the wrong tires.
