Knew it would happen sooner or later. Ian was yesterday, me today, look out for Friday/#3. Who wants to claim that prize?

Ignition has gone out. Don't know if it's the coil, distributor or ? ? ?

Damn Paul.... I thought I was the only one to have a failure after talking about how good the car was doing. Did you forget to knock on wood Tuesday night? o_O

What symptoms before loss of ignition?
None. It just died. Then restarted, then died then restarted then died. All in less than a couple minutes. From my log files and from the experience, its just like the ignition went away.

Tried to restart after coasting to a stop. Try one - No Try two, fired for 30 sec then died. Off an on like that.

After the tow home, sitting in the garage, it starts fine. Can't find anything wrong. No loose wires, Without a faillure, it's hard to find the cause.

Changing a couple relays, just in case they're the culprit but no clear clues yet

Paul your description sounds just like my circumstance… I’m thinking fuel pump as I hear no growling when key is turned … but acted just like you described… only difference mine would not start after sitting…?

Inconsistent electrical maladies are the worst to troubleshoot.
But...A bad ground wire connection is where I think I would look first.
A removal of each ground wire, wire brush the connectors, dielectric grease on each connector and confirm a good tight connection.
Tedious and a PITA...but without a consistent repeatable failure it may be the only good place to start.
