I’ve seen metal paint protectors on a few Cobras, but I can’t find them anywhere. Getting a new paint job and want to protect those very vulnerable fenders.

Are you referring to something like this?
Metal is tricky since each car has a distinctive shape due to molding and to bodywork. Many of us are using 'ClearBra' type protection. The film is almost impervious and yet still shows the color.
