Rams Predictions

Looking back at the first few posts, Craig was the most right on the wins :D We were all right on what is needed yet, WR. I don't think a drafted WR will have enough impact, so looking for one maybe two veteran's and get one or two through the draft. RB and Offensive Guard should also be priority. Not first round, but they should draft them. How many times this year did we see a 3rd and 1 with Jackson or the FB up the middle only to get stuffed due to the blocks getting blown back? I'm not disappointed they didn't make the playoffs, more disappointed in how they lost 3 games due to their lack of effort and poor play. Looking forward to next year! :D

I am still frustrated with the inane play calling.

There were FAR too many 3rd and longs over 15 yds where they ran the ball up the middle. For almost every defensive line... it was predictable...and the opposition stuffed Jackson every time.

Or...Bradford dumped a short pass to the corners only to be immediately tackled... short of a first. Third down conversions were the exception rather than the rule.

A pass over 15 yds during an entire game could be counted on one hand with three fingers left over...

Or...being down by seven or more points with less than four minutes to play...and they run three in a row....?

What we need...even more than a WR is someone calling plays who does so without a defensive coach mindset...

Very true Kerry. Spags is definitely conservative. On the up side, overall I think he is an excellent coach & things are definitely looking up due to his leadership & Devaney's draft choices. Bradford & Saffold were big homeruns. Teams who picked ahead of the Rams when Saffold was still on the board are really kicking themselves for not picking Saffold especially the Colts. Manamoula (sp?) was a homerun too. If Mark Clayton/WR stays healthy next year that will help a lot. I'm not convinced that Donny Avery is the answer at WR. DeSean Jackson was on the board when we picked Avery (pre-Devaney) :(:mad::mad:. DUMB. You & Tim are right. We need upgrades on the O line. Who is the weakest link there? Left guard, center or right guard? A speedy back ala Marshall Faulk would be nice.

BTW Here's the 2011 draft order so far:

1st Carolina
2nd Denver
3rd Buffalo
4th Cinn
5th Ariz
6th Browns
7th 49ers
8th Tenn
9th Dallas
10th Wash
11th Houston
12th Minn
13th Lions
14th RAMS

Top Receivers in 2011 Draft:

AJ Green/Georgia
Julio Jones/Ala
Justin Blackmore/OK St
Ryan Broyles/OK
Michael Floyd/N.D.
Jon Baldwin/Pitt

Did anybody read the story on the front page of yesterday's Post by Bernie Miklasz re the "right way" to build a winning NFL football team? Somewhat of a statement of the obvious, but still a good article. The three most important things are the draft, the draft & the draft. It's the draft stupid. :D

Thurs. night 6pm NFL network 2011 draft. :D Scuttlebutt is that Bengals 4th, Browns 6th & Redskins 10th are the most likely to go wide receiver. For Julio Jones to slip to the Rams at 14 two out of those 3 need to pick positions other than WR. Of course if any 2 of the 13 teams picking before the rams go WR were s*****d. :( If Jones is not there chances are the best player available will be D-Line.

This could be a good back to complement SJ as 3rd or 4th round pick: http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2011dmurray_greg.php
