Putnam Park / MVP / April 14th - 15th 2012

With the lack of work the way it is right now my whole year of track and AX is in jeopardy.

So far we have 6 drivers and 2 pit crew members. 4 of the six drivers are running Cobras. 2 of the drivers are from GCC - Mark and myself. I know its early but these events tend to fill up quickly.

The more the merrier.

That is the weekend we will be going to California, so I won't be able to make this one. Will have to look at the 10/10ths event.

Thinking the May event. Then there will be Hallett in June. Will look at Joliet or Putnam again for October.

Northwoods Cobra club has open track days on July 27-29 at Road America and Blackhawk Farms on Sept 8-9 as well.

I hope this finds all of you in good spirits. MVP Track Time (www.MVPTrackTime.com) is extremely excited to announce our expanded 2012 track event schedule.

Revise your 2012 track schedule, as we've added a few new dates for your driving pleasure, notably Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas and a second weekend at Road America in July (think cool Wisconsin in mid-Summer). Keep an eye on our web site for updates as the 2012 progresses.

MVP Track Time’s goal remains the same, to bring you great value with more actual track time at each event for less money. Our three run group (Novice, Intermediate and Advanced) format allows us to maximize actual time driving on the track, keeping paddock time to a minimum.

Below you will find our 2012 schedule, subject to possible revision as the year progresses.

April 14 – 15: Putnam Park (Greencastle, IN.) – 6th Annual “Tax-Freedom Track Weekend”

May 12-13: Heartland Park (Topeka, KS.) – “Yes Toto, We Are In Kansas.”

June 11: Autobahn Country Club I (Joliet, IL) - Full 3.56 Mile Track

July 7-8: Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) – ”Another Weekend At Road America”

August 6: Autobahn Country Club II (Joliet, IL) - Full 3.56 Mile Track

October 13 - 14: Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) – 3rd Annual ”Cheese Heads On Track”

November 17 – 18: Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) – 4th Annual “Flyin’ Turkey Trot”

Registration (on line or mail in) for all our track events is available at:

As always, we schedule a minimum of six, 20-minute session each day for each run group with qualified instructors available for the Novice run group.

I hope you’ll join us in 2012 for plenty of on-track excitement with MVP Track Time. All are invited and welcome. Please, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions.

Happy Motoring and I hope to see you at the track in 2012!

I just received an e-mail from MVPtracktime that the novice and intermediate groups for this event are 1/2 sold out and the advanced group is 100% sold. So if you guys are thinking about going - better sign up now.

I just received this from Mark Pfeffer:

Just a quick update on Putnam Park. We are nearly full. Below you will see the remaining spots for Putnam Park April 14-15.
Advanced: FULL
Intermediate: 3-Weekend spots *** 2- Sunday only
Novice: 10 - Weekend spots

Steve

We're just a little over two weeks away from the Putnam event. Besides Mark and me is there anyone else planning on going either as a participant or spectator?

Steve

I think Jim Dooley was going to try and come to watch. If you're a car guy - it's going to be a big weekend. I expect about a dozen Cobras, high dollar ACR Vipers, all sorts of Vettes, Audi R8s and A4s, BMW M3s, street and race-prepped Porches of all sizes, and an assortment of Lotus. Sounds fun to me anyway.

Yes, I think Jean an I may come watch Saturday and Sunday. Not sure if I work that Sunday or not. I know Mark P also was interested. Him an I talked about coming over together, then Jean decided she would like to come with me. If Mark wants the three of us can still ride together.

One of the reasons I'm asking is I may need someone to drive the Exige over and back. Any volunteers if I do?

Steve

Your best bet would be to talk to Jim.
He may want to trailer it over for you for gas money.
Anyway give him a call.

If not we'll figure something out.
