MVP Track Time (based in St. Louis) is hosting an event at Putnam on April 10th and 11th.
http://www.mvptracktime.com/id25.html. I've run with them before and they put on a great event.

Putnam is about 30 miles this side of Indianapolis. It is a very forgiving track. Kind of like driving on a golf course. A great course for beginners, but still challenging and lots of fun. http://www.putnampark.com/index.html

You will need a helmet, 4 point harness (on both seats if you want / need an instructor), pants and long sleeved shirt. Your helmet must also be below the top of your rollbar.

I am trying to sort out my schedule to see if I can make this event. I'll post an update as soon as I know. If anyone has questions feel free to either call 314-409-3281 or email me. stevefehr@musketeergroup.com.

I doubt my Helmet would be below my rollbar. For some reason my rollbar is a shorty. Maybe it's a cosmetic thing.:rolleyes: It might be fun to tag along & just hang with you guys. Do you stay the night between days? BTW hey Steve I would suggest that you put the road course events you have posted on the club Calendar in this forum. It is easy to do. Let me know if ya want me to do it for you.

Yes we do spend the night in Cloverdale, IN. There are a couple hotels at that exit (off of Highway 70). As a rule we arrive on Friday and stay for two nights. If you just wanted to hang, then driving over early Saturday morning and spending just Saturday night would work best.

I see where / how to put them in the calendar, so I'll put them in.

I will be there too. This will be the shake down for the new Hurricane cobra. Mark at MVP does a great job. This is a good time to try your skills at a few hot laps. These guys are typically slower than the Run and Gun group!:D

They will restrict the number of cars so everyone theoretically gets 200 yards of track. Everyone usually stays at he Holiday Inn Express in Cloverdale.

That is usually fine. They will likely allow it after lunch once they see how well the group behaves. If they allow it, the seat is yours!:D

Dave - the roll bar question was addressed at the Jan meeting. Steve had the same problem with the broom stick test. They took the cushion out of his seat, and the problem was solved. I would have the same problem - big helmet (Ah Umm), low roll bar. I may take my seat out too and measure to see where that lands me.

Also, wait on the calendar entries - I'll be developing a schedule of events for the year and publishing soon.

Hey guys,
First post here I think, although I pop in occasionally checking RunN'Gun news. Have met several of you at London and RnG---you clearly have an active and close knit bunch of friends/members. Great fun for you all!:)
On the subject of Putnam Park, in addition to MVP another great organization to run with is 10/10ths Motorsports. They do a fantastic job with Novice, Intermediate and Advanced groups. Lots of track time and some outstanding instructors. They have 4 weekends scheduled for 2010 (April 3, May 8-9, August 28-29 and October 23-24); I'd love to see some of you make it over here so I could have some Cobra brothers on the track!

Cheers,
Jeff

Hey Jeff, welcome to the group! I always look forward to another track junky on the boards. Are you going to join us for the Putnam day with MVP? It works a little better for me because it is a bit of a drive and I can get 2 days on the track with a new car. In the past I have only gotten about half of the track time with new cars due to adjustments and mechanical issues. I will probably take 2 days to work out the bugs.

From the "Corner Weight Scales" thread

How bout doing it at Dave & Danny's garage party tentatively scheduled for 4/10/10?

David:

Aren't you going to come to Putnam? Even if you don't want to run you and Danny could always BBQ for us. :)

Steve

How limited is registration? I'm interested, but need to know my financial situation first (bonus numbers don't come out for another month)

Tim:

I just talked to the MVP folks. They are half full as of today. He didn't give me an exact number of total openings. All he said was they expect to be full by the middle of next month.

An update from MVP.

Good Day All:

We have a change of hotel venue for our April 10-11, 2010 track weekend at Putnam Park. We will be doing tech inspections Friday April 9th at the Super 8 Motel - Cloverdale (1020 North Main Street, Cloverdale, IN. 46120) from around 3:00PM until dark.

The Super 8 is offering discounted rooms ($67 + Tax per night) for all MVP Track Time participants. Call the Super 8 at (765) 795-7373 to reserve a room if necessary. Tell them you are with MVP Track Time for discounted rate. All expenses of the hotel are your responsibility.

Sorry about the change, but circumstances dictated we do so. Call me at (314) 249-3770 if you have any questions. Happy Motoring and I'll see you at the track.

Hope to decide about this one in the next few weeks. Right now, I'm on the fence. Might be the maiden voyage of the Team Mauldin race trailer :D

So we have:

Myself and Dean as definites. Tim and Mark as maybes. Isn't there anyone else interested in putting there car through its paces on the track?
