So, as you know, my F250 has been leaking oil in every driveway I go to. So, I took it in to Sparks some time ago and they thought they found the camshaft sensor seal leaking, the high pressure oil pump leaking, the power steering pump and the upper/lower radiator hoses leaking.

I confirmed the antifreeze leak, as well as the power steering pump (the pump housing looks 'wet' but it isn't really dripping there).

From this, Sparks gave me a quote on the low end of $5,500 and on the high end of $7,500 to perform this work that requires the cab of the truck to be lifted off. I found my extended warranty, and it appeared that this warranty would care for all of these, minus the radiator hoses. However, after Sparks contacted the extended warranty company, they told Sparks that most if not all would be covered under Fords 5 year 100,000 mile power train warranty (which I knew the PS Pump wouldn't be, but, ok, let's give it a shot).

So, I took it to Lou Fusz Ford in Chesterfield. Upon inspection and looking at the previous repair order, they could only find the PS Pump leaking, but said it was just weeping and that replacement wasn't suggested at this time. They did call me and give me a quote on replace/repair of the upper and lower radiator hose ($260 in parts and $220 in labor which is almost 2 hours in labor to replace the hoses ) I approved that as I found the parts to be about that much, but I did question the labor, but, having not replaced one before, I told them to proceed. I later looked on youtube, and, of course, there are videos on how to do this, which took the Youtube tech about 15 - 20 minutes to replace (not counting draining of antifreeze and re-filling)

They told me they put a dye in the oil and to drive it over the weekend, bring it back and they would have another look at it. Well, I put over 130 miles on the truck and took it back in on Wednesday. They called me and said they could only find the Camshaft sensor leaking, and repaired/replaced that. They however, did NOT call me to have that authorized. I blew up and figured that the $500 repair, um yeah, was on them since I didn't approve them to replace. They ended up eating that cost as well as the diagnostic cost of $120. But, they could find no other leaks, and told me to drive it for another week as they couldn't see any dye anywhere and that it hadn't circulated through yet.

So, ok. I left Paul's house yesterday headed to Omer's and guess what.....Yep, an oil stain on his driveway, as well as one at my house and at Omer's  WTH!!! So, while at Omer's, I asked if he had a UV light, he did and let me borrow it. I pulled in to the garage today, I find oil at the oil pan seal, but it's not leaking there, it appears it is coming from above. That being said, fresh oil is on my fingers, on my engine, and on the oil pan, but the UV light didn't show any difference in the color of oil. Hmmm.... so I pulled the dipstick just to see if it showed a difference there....it didn't  So, I went to the oil fill cap, nothing there either. Now, I'm beginning to wonder if they put any in at all. Think I will go get some on my own, put it in and then I will know.

What do you think, trying to rip me off or what?
