This months car belongs to none other than our Club Prez Mark Earls. This is a great example of a replica built by Superformance and is chassis # 2693. Mark ordered this car in April of 2007 and took delivery in the fall of 2007. His wife, Lisa, told him he better get a big block, lucky guy
and he had to sell his pristine convertible Corvette to get it. Well, big block he got to the tune of 588 c.i.
This bad boy puts out over 650 horsepower and 700 ft/lbs torque at the flywheel. All this power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch to a TKO 600 5 speed and 3.46 rear gears. If you've never heard Mark's car, you will if it drive's by. Not only does the big block put out a mean sound, Mark has had the baffles removed from the sidepipes to get the full effect. To bring his beast to a stop on a dime, Willwood® power-assisted vented disc brakes (4-pot calipers.Front, Single-pot calipers back) are used along with some very large patches of rubber on the ground.
Think this car is meant for sunny days only? Not a chance, Mark opted for the soft top, side screens and a heater/defroster. Mark has enjoyed his ride for about 8500 miles so far, and plans for many more are in the works. Oh, and did I mention this one is licensed by ole C.S. himself?
