I just bought a new vehicle:D Pics will follow. I could not pass on the deal. It is an '89 Jimmy with a Western Plow on it. I bought it for about half of what the plow should cost. So far we have changed the brake lines, plugs, wires, distributor and battery. We got it running. Here is the delima...fresh fuel was coming out of the gasket where the header is connected to the exhaust. I have spark in all cylinders. Our only thought was while we were trying to get it started we just dumped so much fuel it leaked. So, once it burned off there would not be an issue with a fire. Any other ideas??

My boys were able to help with this one. Yesterday they each got a can of Rust Oleum to cover the rust:eek::D. That is one of the memories we will have for a long time.

Ok, got it fired up! runs horrible:mad: I drained the fuel (1-2 years old). Now I think just change the in line fuel filter. Hopefully it will be up and running tomorrow. We are supposed to have 1-3 inchs tomorrow night. I havn't had any other issues with gas in the header. I am hoping it was all the fuel we put into the system while trying to start it.

Brandon, been thinking about this today. An 89 probably has a throttle body on it. I had this on a '90 GMC S-15. One of the sensors was bad, I believe the oxygen sensor, causing it not to burn off all the fuel. Also, since you had fuel coming out of the exhaust, pull your dipstick and smell the oil. I'll bet you will smell gas in the oil. If so, change it. What started it all for me was I changed throttle bodies and ended up flooding the engine which subsequently led to fuel in the oil and the other problems. HTH
