If everything works out, I am leaving thursday for Canada to pick up a new hardtop for my car. This is the link to the hardtop at http://www.cobrakit.com/Hardtop/Hardtop5.htm
The hardtop comes with new side curtains. The hardtop comes with all of the mounting hardware also. I like to drive and am looking forward to the trip.

I am taking my truck to haul the top back. I wish I could do some fishing but I do not have the time. I will have to pay some kind of duty on the top.

I am interested in the outcome of your top. It is for a west coast cobra? I have a stallion, basic same as west coast. Please let me know if it fits as well as it is supposed to. Sidepipe 49

Good luck Dale, take pics of the install when you get it back.

Passport problems

As of June 2009, a passport is required to get back into the US from Canada. I will have to apply for a new one as my old one expired. I talked to Vern from West Coast now located in Ontario Canada. He had originally told me that he could not bring the top across the border. If he can find a way to get it across, I will pick it up this coming Friday. If not, I will have to wait 3 weeks to get the passport using the quick processing link.

I have a 1981 Stallion. Vern told me that the West Coast bodies are the same mold as the Stallion. The tops will fit either car. I have a convertible top now.

My family has a history of skin cancer from exposure to the sun. That is why I want to get the hardtop. The softop is alright but I am hoping that the hardtop is tighter. If it is tight enough, I am going to see about air-conditioning the car. I had an air-conditioner on my Pantera which took very little power to run. I will have to investigate the power requirements of the new small compressors.

Very cleverly done and I'm sure it's a fine product. That said, like the original FFR soft top, it's so ugly I'd rather get wet.

I think I still like the APE products the best as far as looks. I kind of like the idea of the gullwing to assist you getting in though. very clever.
