New builds

Rick:

The car is looking good! Glad to see you got the photobucket account. To post a pic just go to the photobucket main page with the picture thumbnails. Hover the cursor over the picture and a Share/Edit/Delete/Move box will pop up. Now move the cursor down to the "IMG code" box and click on the address in the box. The address will go away and be replaced with the word "copied". Now come here and start your thread. Where ever you want the pic to be in a post just right click and select paste. The code will be pasted and when you submit the post the picture will appear where you told it to. Give me a shout if you need any help figuring it out.

Rich, Keith, and Rick,
Looking @ your builds this weekend, it just occured to me that none of them included a driveshaft safety loop.
anybody still planning one or do you guys think they aren't necessary?

Its funny you should ask, I was talking with my brother about that last night, will probably fabricate one similar to Fortes design. I don't know if they are required for track use or not, but assume they are.

Usually not for road racing, but yes for drag racing. However, there is a picture of one that came through the tranny tunnel on FFCars somewhere. Lot's of carnage, however, unless you rest your arm on the tunnel, it would not have lodged in to your side or anything. See my build thread for the simple way I did it. Bar stock steel and a stock loop off the shelf.

Mark, It is funny you should ask. I also wonder about the requirments for a safety loop. I'll have to look at Tims build and see what I want to do. All the info I am getting on the VSS doesn't look like I need it so I will go with GM speedo drive and see how it works

Rick:)

I have a loop ready to put on. Part of my winter upgrades. I will take pictures when I get a chance. It's a generic loop, that I am tapping the frame tubes, and bolting a flat cross bar across the frame. This will then allow the loop to bolt to the crossmember. It will only extend 1/4" + bolt head below the frame rail.

Reading further back, I'm going about it just about the exact same way Tim did his. I guess great minds do think alike!!!

Rich,
What is the vaccu-boost / master-cylinder you're running?
I've got a '95 booster / MC, but I really like the size of yours and the remote resevoirs.

Very cool setup, interested in how it performs when you start go-karting.

Rich,
Thanks for the link and thanks again for your help this weekend. (Rich is helping me teardown and re-finish my front spindles).

Here's a pic of his vaccu-boost setup, very small and clean:

Rich, Is that the remote resevoir that I've read about? I'd like to add that to my build. Would you have the part number for the reservoir? I think it's off a Villager, but I'm not positive. Thanks. Looks like a nice build too. It would almost have to be with it being your third and final.

Oh saw it in a previous post. Still a year and part number would be nice. Thanks
