If I understand this correctly, this is a new company (FII) manufacturing a new aluminum 427 Cobra body (by Panel Craft) on the New-Old-Stock Shelby American Series 1 chassis!

Hand-Crafted Bodies Make the 427 Roadster Way More Appealing

This is a better article and pictures. They also dumped the original (Olds - Aurora engine(?) and went with a 427. The performance and handling are EXCELLENT and 500lbs lighter than the series 1. Cool wheels too (NOS Series 1 again). Some of the body lines don't look quite right either (I know it's not supposed to be a replica, but I they they carried the rear fenders too low on the sides). Bit overall, pretty cool.

Chassis is very well designed and it's supposed to handle incredibly well, but the body doesn't do it for me either.
But it's supposed to accommodate a 6' 9" driver!

Pretty cool but.....it is still too heavy. All that work in aluminum and it is 1000 lbs heavier than a FFR roadster. Heck it is 1100 lbs heavier than my Coupe!

I was looking for the weight and didn't see it, was expecting it to come in under an FFR with all of that aluminum.
What's it tip the scales at?

Why does everyone dislike the look? I like the spoiler, its one of the things I would like on my car.
$78,500 for the frame, $104,500 for a roller. How's that compare to a Kirkham?

Kirkham roller without any options is 69,500. And it is a known entity.

If I recall, this FII guy is the company Shelby was in cahoots with to make the 2nd gen Cobra's (project didn't fly)

Geez what's next? Shelby American digs up the 50 lost NOS FIA chassis and put titanium reproduction Corvair bodies on them? Looks like a Hot Wheel, yuck. I guess time will tell who might buy such a thing when he shows up in Ohio for the LCS. Sorry, I'm just not feeling it today.

Well I read the MotorTrend article and it said the car has 650 hp and a power/weight of 5.14. The math tells me that it would need to weigh 3341 lbs for those numbers to be correct. Looks like MotorTrend has some bogus numbers.
