NASCAR and other foriegn makes

BMW, Nissan, Honda..... I really don't think I would mind too much, although, the bodies these days are from a template, only the decals are different and the engines. Remember the days you could race it on Sunday, and actually buy it on Monday?

Yeah but the article said the vast majority of the races are won by.....

Wait for it....

CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell me if I'm wrong - but the engines are cookie cutter too - right? All small block Chevys.

For the foreign makes - it would just be a rolling advertising platform. They all have "real" racing programs that they spend millions on and do actual development work that eventually makes it to the street. So, in the end it will be a decision of their marketing departments. Also, remember - global auto sales are down too - they are suffering as well - but because of the lower dollar - they can buy more advertising cheaply here.

Here's an idea - why not give them all equally prepared bicycles, or remote controlled cars - let them put any kind of stickers they want on them. It's basically the same thing as it is now - except without the fear of dying in an accident - oh wait - then nobody would watch.

toyota

Write now toyota is trying to put a pro-stock nhra team together for 2010 from my understanding they have engines almost done still in testing. They will have one problem coming up with a tow vehicle all their trucks are to small for trailer used for prostock vehicles

CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's because the odds are in their favor. There are more Chevy's fielded each week than other makes. This will suddenly decrease now that GM is bankrupt. Recent news from NASCAR says there is a big meeting coming up with GM and NASCAR to discuss the manufacturer pulling back support to the teams. Chevy's days are numbered. Also, see what manufacturer is leading the points? Toyota.
