I was recently talking with Wolfgang (most members know him)...he left me a text that I can pass along; this is a direct quote from Wolfgang,

“Ian if you wish, you can convey to the club members that I can really specialize in repairing small nagging issues that other shops may not want to deal with. Sometimes small detail issues can take a lot of time that would be quite expensive if charging by the hour. I would charge by the job, not by the hour. This is one reason FranJo failed. We did many odd repairs that took a tremendous amount of time, but could not bill the customer”

Wanted to pass this info along. His cell number is: 636 485 4767 (BEST TO TEXT HIM, identify yourself - he will call back)

Last point of possible interest; Jason my son-in-law was recently at Omar Phelps shop. Jason says Omar was sad that the Cobra guys left??? I guess we fell in with FRANJO. Jason was talking about me and my car, hence Omar comments...Jason loves the work he does...Omar can Dyno also... has all the equipment and then some as Jason says..just an FYI....I believe his number is: 314 378 0374? ( Jason mentions - just saw him Sat 3/30 - Omar will be out town for two weeks...)

We know Omar very well, scheduled our Dyno Day there several times.
I'd be more than willing to share some of our mixed experiences with you.
Please don't speak for the club until you've spoken to us.

I had my car out to Wolfgang for a tune up, check up before Colorado, mainly to look at my A/F mix so I don’t have any issues with the altitude.
He found a problem with my vacuum advance, a bad #1 plug wire and arcing in my distributor cap. I’m very happy with the results and how thorough he was. Just passing that along. Kent

I just had Wolfgang balance the stacks and adjust the linkage on my car Friday. Very happy, only took him about 20 minutes.

Wolfgang helped me with a road tune over the weekend. Haven't picked the car up yet (keeps , but it was great dealing with him. BTW, don't try to drive a trailer up his driveway....

Wolfgang will be on the scene FRIDAY 10/23 in a.m. to install the new slave drive that shot craps in Harrison.... entire slave looks like it self destructed, rubber part chewed up, spit the threaded rod.... don’t know why. I thInk I’ll inquire with BDR, asking why SLAVE DRIVES do not last in BDR’s....this makes my 3rd one....!

Got some responses from BDR owners; most say, “pushrod must be squared up perfectly in the slave bore” - some suggest flushing with DOT4 once year...some suggest a heat shield... MOST SAY these slave drives are NOT OEM quality and should be considered a wear item! The most common response was “ PUSHROD ANGLE IS THE KEY....”MAKE A HEAT SHIELD TO PROTECT IT”....so obviously this seems to be a sore spot for Backdraft owners...

Ian, talk to Wolfgang about changing your slave cylinder for a hydraulic throw out bearing to engage and disengage your clutch. You already have the master cylinder. Don't know all the in and out but might be something to look at, it would take the alignment issue out of the equation. Might come out Fri am to see Wolfgang.

Yep, that would be great. I called him and asked him to call you...yes I think next Friday we shall try again?....10/30....I will keep you posted on time if you wanted to slip by...ok that where we are for the moment....
