The news media is reporting that S. Car. Rep. Gov. Mark Sanford's political career & aspirations of being the GOP nominee for Pres. are over. Should this be the case? What about Bill Clinton? Certainly we want are politicians to be honest. Should we expect them to be faithful or should they be allowed forgiveness by the voting public?
 
Heck yea it's over for him. What is it - a 10 hour flight to Argentina? Then a 5 day stay? This guy is nutty as a fruitcake! Remember the lady astronaut a couple of years ago that donned a diaper and drove across 6 states to get laid? This guy did the same exact thing - just without the diaper - plus he got laid and stayed for 5 days. I'll bet he had a pocket full of Viagra though! Now, he's gonna stand in front of the cameras and cry about his kids??? Gimme a break. He is without a doubt a certifiable nut job. This is not a screw up or a lapse in judgment. He's crazy.

The media should put this in context and leave this horny, old, crazy dude alone with his Viagra and his divorce lawyer. We really need to focus on more important things like Jon and Kate plus 8 getting a divorce, or Madonna buying some more kids from Africa - you know the really important stuff.
 
I agree with Mark. Nut Job. Personally for me, I want someone (man or woman) who display the honesty, grit and american spirit that the job deserves. Once a cheater always a cheater. A code of honor and faithfulness isn't meant to be broken. Converswly, if he would have gotten a divorce and had the affair and everything was straight up, that's different. No vows broken.
 
I have been witnessing a different Mark lately....I really like it.
No one really got up in arms over Clinton...boys will be boys.
The entire issue is that God gave us men two heads and only enuff blood to run them one at a time....think i said that before.
 
I hate to judge people. In my entire lifetime I have only had a couple of opportunities to be unfaithful, and have been able to resist. But these high-level politicians have opportunities thrust at them constantly. It starts small and builds. They soon justify their indiscretions to themselves, and soon all is fair. Alpha males, and most of these are alphas, develop some sort of logic and actions that may be hard to understand, but are present in most species.

Are humans supposed to be able to resist animal instincts and urges? Yes, they are! In reality can they do it? The evidence is that many times they cannot. I am not defending the guy, but I have not been in his position and wonder if I could really do any better if I was. Politicians are a breed unto themselves. I don't understand their behavior any more than I understand the behavior of hairy-nosed wombats.

Yes, his career is over, but I bet he has done lots of things in the past worse than getting a little strange.

Well said Karl. We human beings do a lot of rationalizing, justifying & excusing our own behavior when we do something that we know we should not do. We are all guilty of doing that. And you are also right that we should not judge one another. That is someone else's prerogative/responsibility & we will all have to face him some day.

Hey Snakey one: were you refering to Gov. Mark or our Prez. Mark? :D
 
No one has mentioned the other obvious to me. How would you like the prez to just leave for a couple days. At least "Slick Willy" was still sitting at his desk:D!

Hey why did ya delete the rant. I thought it was pretty good. Your entitled to voice your opinion whether it's PC or not. :confused: BTW are ya doing any cruising today? I'll bet ya can't wait to get back in it now that it's running good. :D
