From Kent:

My oldest son Nate is now an Automation Engineer at Ford but at the time (Christmas of 05) he was in college and we were talking about restoring a classic Mustang, maybe a 64 or 65. We wanted a project to do together but I told him I hated body work. I mentioned that I had always wanted a Cobra and we started researching the best products available. We were really impressed with Factory Five and when we found a couple guys in St. Louis willing to let us come over to their homes and drool over their handywork, we were sold. Those two guys happened to be Mike DeGuire and Tom Keiser. Hard not to be impressed with their cars.

Nate and 2 buddies made a road trip to Mass and picked up our MK3 in January 06, we bought a wrecked 94 GT in February at an auto auction, and went to work. We ended up only using the engine, tranny, fuel tank and rear end. We bought new front end geometry, steering, brakes and spindles, etc. The rear end was rebuilt with 3.55 gears and we converted the EFI engine to carbureted but other than that we left the power train stock. And I was happy with our performance until I started hanging out with you guys. So Thanksgiving of 08 we pulled the engine and bumped it up to a 331 stroker. We did all the work on the car ourselves except the paint job and the engine rebuild. Some things are best left to the professionals. And as we all know, everyone judges the quality of the build based on the paint job and how well it smokes the tires. Forget about all the hours you spent deciding where the brake lines should go and whether you really need to install that charcoal filter cannister.

The paint job is charcoal metallic basecoat over the entire car. We taped off the stripes and put 5 coats of Hot Raspberry tinted clear on it, pulled the stripes, and put 3 coats of clear over everything.

As much fun as it was to build, I really enjoy driving it and intend to put a lot more miles on it with the help of Gateway Cobras.

Updated with information. Anyone else have pictures of this car?

Is this the one with the wooden dash? I think I met Kent and his wife on the maiden FCR. They're good people. Love the paint on that car. If that is the right one, I'll check tonight and send you some more pics.

A really beautiful car! The paint job and tire & wheel combo really make it stand out. Nice work Kent, looking forward to cruising with you more this year.

Jorja and I appreciate the comments on our car but more importantly, being part of this group of great people.
