Kidde is undergoing a major recall of the small extinguishers they produced in the last 40+ years. They made a mistake and shipped me two extra units. If you have one within the parameters, I can change it out for you. Immediate gratification.
Send me a note and bring the old one by and I'll exchange it for you. First come, first served. and need to be fast, I need to return the old ones.
Details on the recall:
Kidde produces over half of the small extinguishers in the home market - and has had a major foopah. Recalling ALL units built between 1973 and 2017 - 37.8 million units.
so, how does this affect me? If you a unit within the parameters, it's a free exchange. and generally, if the unit is over 5 years old, it probably won't work anyway. Good deal
Paul
ps: I've learned that after a few years, the compound settles in the bottom of the bottle and the extinguisher doesn't work. Tried a couple and one of them didn't do like it should. Just a warning. Look at the expiration date on the unit. It might not do what you expect it to and you won't learn it till the most inopportune moment. Be warned!
