Kc bbq

Yes, and Yes. Jackstack is better, to me. Have BBQ there then go to J. Alexander's for Carrot Cake, yes, it's that good to make a special trip.

We lost a good place in pevely mo. called bobby tom - had best ribs and potato salad and they used to cater many ford serv meetings

Famous Dave's is also good. Their bbq sauce was a little tangy for my taste, but the meat was tender. I judge the meat more without sauce, if it tastes good undisguised, it will surely taste better with a good sauce :)

Thanks for the info on Famous Dave's: http://www.famousdaves.com/ NOTE: Famous Dave's has a rest. in Branson "near" Headquarters for Supercruise. :D

Hey Snakey are you referring to the brisket at Mel's River Dock in Hardin?

BTW This is supposed to be the best BBQ in STL: http://pappyssmokehouse.com/ I tried it & wasn't overly impressed, especially with the sides. Any other opinions on the best BBQ in STL?

I have yet to find an excellent BBQ place in STL. Super Smokers used to be considered quality, but I never thought so. Bandanas serves beef ribs - so they're out. Most STL places smother they're product in sauce and I don't like that style - I like a good spicy rub. KnowhatImeanVern?

I do like the ribs at Bandana's, I like the Pork at Super Smokers and the beef at Ethyl's in O'Fallon. Been meaning to try Stumpy's, but haven't yet.

Best Ribs...Branding Iron in Farmington or Jackson MO (Dry Rub) with sweet sauce on the side.

V. Good Pork Steak...Warehouse BBQ in Farmington. (wet)

Super Smokers is good but portions are small and $$ for what you get.

Sorry Tim...but IMHO....Bandanas is on par with a McDonalds McRib sandwich...

Well, I do like McDonalds :D I like their taste on the ribs. Guess we can't all live in Farmington  :D

Pick a Bone

I just found a new place that has the best BBQ around here. It is a bunch of guys who pitch a tent every Thu-Sun and smoke meat all day. They are in a gas station parking lot on 141 near 21, right under the giant pink elephant. Dry smoked chicken is unbelievably good, and their pork steaks are so tender they practically fall apart if you just look at them. Ribs are good too. I usually prefer sauce, but their dry rub is fine by itself. Sides are just so-so; stick with the meat.
