Interesting survey of Ford Techs and Service Reps

I would have rather seen an interview of multiple EXPERIENCED mechanics rather than the 20 something who gave reasons of "just because" or the others of I just like it. Since these EcoBoosts are relatively new, there are few stories and videos of engines over 100,000 miles. It's been proven that the 3.5 EcoBoost outperforms the 5.0 in towing (http://www.caranddriver.com/compari...f-150-lariat-35l-ecoboost-4wd-comparison-test ) time and time again. It's been proven time and time again that the "Eco" in the name isn't really, eco. The 5.0 get's same gas mileage, so, if you're buying because of fuel mileage, either or will do. The real question is longevity/reliability. Really, in the video above, the point would have better proven by sharing service records. It was clear that many of the tech's have never towed with the 3.5 EcoBoost nor driven one (see tech at the 3:52 mark) who mentions power to tow and, more or less, "turbo lag". There isn't any turbo lag in mine. This video, very un-scientific, shows all three, but still, the EcoBoost wins out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23O-hS-r0gQ

I have 33,000 miles on mine with towing trips (towing the car) to Gatlinburg, TN (in my 20' Enclosed trailer), San Marcos, Tx (Serpent Express), KC AutoX and a few others. I've had an F250 with the 6.4L Diesel, and I will tell you, this truck tows better than that truck did. I can go on and on about how pleased I am with this truck, but, what I cannot tell you is how reliable it is over the long hall. Bring this thread back up to the top in 3 years, I'll have close to 80,000 on it then and will let you know. :D

Bottom line, I wouldn't hesitate again to buy the 3.5 EB for towing. :D
