I have a problem...............

Man oh Man I wish I could tell ya for sure. The transporting co. told me that there was an outside chance it would be picked up today & be here by this weekend, but that ain't gonna happen. I was hoping to bring it next Tues., but now its looking like they won't be able to pick it up until Mon. :( I asked the guy yesterday when was the last time the oil had been changed & he said 4 yrs ago & h'e driven it 30 miles since then! :rolleyes: Danny & I are going to probably have to drain the gas tank & do all kinds of stuff to it to get it road ready. I went thru the same stuff with my 57 when I first got it.
 
Tell you what - how about a Upgrade Area for you in the Members Area - so you can keep us up to date with Pics and stuff ??
 
OK If the guys don't mind some chevy stuff in here. I already had one of my vette buddies tell me the Tach is a 59 Tach & not a 58. :( I want to get that engine bay cleaned up & looking spiffy as quickly as I can. I'll probably leave the incorrect 327 in it for now. I already talked to Danny about pulling the engine, cleaning the engine compartment, paint the engine & put it back in nice & clean & fresh looking with new paint on it. I'm toying with the idea of putting dual quad "clones" on it. I've got early 55 to 57 Carter WCFB carbs in the attic that I can put on a dual quad intake & make it look like authentic dual Quads & 99% of the public won't know the difference.
 
Very nice Dave. That will keep you busy for a while. We'll need pictures of the arrival and progress as you get into it.
 
Thanks Tom. :) Will try to keep camera handy. I'm having it shipped by enclosed/covered transport to Danny's. Sounds like it won't be picked up until Mon & then arrive sometime next week. :( I was hoping there was an outside chance I could drive it to next Tues. night's meeting. Hey this gives me another reason for the garage christening party idea we have been kicking around. I noticed when I mentioned having a mid afternoon lunch after the garage christening party at Josephine's Tea room for the wives's sake @ last month's meeting there were some wry smiles & eyes rolling going on & no positive reactions to that idea Oh well. :):rolleyes: We'll see. Maybe the last Sat. in April could work out. Any conflicts?
 
nice car Dave, my favorite years 58-60. my neighbors brother used to be original owner of a 1960 later made it black with red interior and white top, happy wrenchin':D
i am one day going to get me a 1959 f-250 4x4 the first year for it but it maybe a dream:o
had one to buy from florida but i declined on the bid:(

58 arrived at 5pmish today. It's a LOT rougher than I expected. :eek: Oh well, I'll just have to fix er up & get er looking spiffy. The guy owned it for 14 years & I don't think it's seen any wax for 14 years. :( Corvette Central is going to be liking me a lot more than they already do$$$$$$$$$! One thing for sure is there's no chance this thing is going to Dragon Nats in 2 weeks. Why do some people own things & then neglect them so terribly?:confused::( I plan to love it & not neglect it.
 
Um, Wax? That's all that's making it rough? Heck, I'll be there Saturday and we'll have it ready by the end of the day for Dragon Nat's. :D
 
Now you guys are starting to hurt. Unfortunately it's gonna take more than wax ($) to "unrough" this little puppy. :eek: You guys crack me up & I need that right now. :p BTW When he unloaded the 58 there was a $250,000.00 Lamborghini Striker just above my $41,000? vette! :eek: Danny was crawling all over the transport looking at Porsches, Ferrari's & other stuff.

Well at least the old girl is in loving hands again and I'm sure you'll have her cleaned up in a short time. It's only $$ right :rolleyes: and you can't take it with you. Can't wait to see the finished project.
 
Ever see an armored car in the line of cars for a funeral? :rolleyes: Just remember Dave, driving season is right around the corner. Get her roadworthy, then use the winter to work on it.
 
Thanks for the encouragement Bull. Anybody have an armored/Brinks truck full of LOTS of money I can borrow? I'm gonna need it. :eek:
