Ok...I looked over my shoulder and didn't see her watching me on the calculator to verify my math.

mathematically, the number is always a factor of 9 (ie: 9, 18, 27, 36, etc)
checkout the answers, all of them that are a factor of 9 have the same answer
the other gifts don't repeat or duplicate often and not in a pattern, but the 9's (18, 27, 36, 45, 54, ....) are always the same and a new "gift" is assigned each time you play.

So, how does it know which gift to display?
whatever is in #9 (and also 18, 27, 36,.......)
will be displayed.
do it once.
your answer will always be a factor of 9
when the big board comes up, the gift in 9 will be the same as your gift and what is displayed.
the answer is always a factor of 9 becasue our system is base-ten.
if it were base 12, I believe the answer would always be a factor of 11, etc.
(don't hold me to it, my Algebra is 35+ years old, but I'm an IT geek with a minor in Math)
