Hurricane

Good thing you didn't buy it - you would have been lucky to end up with a single body shell.

just curious about the corrected link...what did i do wrong?
can't see the diff in my posted link and yours

All the spaces, for instance . html (.space html) and the space between dallas and news. I corrected, and made another post, Mark corrected your post within your post, so now you see no difference.

thanks

I just did a copy/paste ...I was able open from another email I received. Thought it would work. glad to have you "pro's" on here to take care of us that are neophites.
Thanks...another successful day....I learned something

back to the thread...

Uh oh...Paul - hope you have all the parts and support you needed from Hurricane. Looks like they will be no more. Too bad people become greedy in this life.

I think Paul's got everything he needed from them and if he doesn't have it, I bet he could make it better than they would have. :D

Limited Production car

I always wanted to own a limited production car :) :( I have one of 121 ever produced. If that ratio holds true to the original Cobras ( 1:993) my car should be worth a little over 8 times as much as a 1966 version.

We are following this with interest, it is really kind of sad. If you read all the Fed press releases, the father figured out how to scam a bunch and lavished his son with gifts, including a car company. All is now tied up in the Fed SEC courts. I am guessing the body molds and frame jig is out of circulation for at least the next 18-36 months.

In the mean time, we Hurricane owners have banded together in an owners group: HM-Cobra.org. You're welcome to visit the forum and follow some of the postings. Links to all the Federal documents if you need reading material.

Fortunately, most all owners are whole. The only guys who got "injured" are those who purchased small block cars as the headers had some issues. Other than that, minor missing parts but most guys are in good shape.

We now join the ranks of "highly desirable replicas, no longer in production"

Hurricane was my first choice. I visited the factory trice and really liked the car and the guys who ran the company. When it came time to putting money down I was told they weren't excepting anymore orders. I went with my second choice Unique and have been very pleased. Its really unfortunate, Hurricane had a great product.

Curious

Hey, David,
Know you're not into this kind of law but a question for you. The Fed has named Hurricane Motorsports, LLC as a relief defendant in the Ponzi scheme litigation they've started against Ray White. This is the Texas corporation that purchased the assets from Hurricane Motorsports, a Missouri corporation.

When they start chasing money, I know they can force the LLC to sell any assets to recoup the money. Can they force them to undo a purchase and return the assets to the Missouri Corp? Or is that part of the deal past history? It is clear that this scheme was going on prior to the purchase and the money to do it came from the scheme?

How do they unravel something like this?

For anyones reading pleasure, this is the press release by the fed along with pdf copies of the complaints: Fed Press Release

Curious how far upstream something like this could go, if those upstream were innocent bystanders and lost $$$ also

? ? ?

WOW that is outside my area. Would probably need to know some more facts. I will try to do some research on it. I have a big trial coming up Wed. between feuding ex-spouses imagine that. Worked on that case most of the weekend. Will probably meet with an accountant/expert witness tomorrow night.
