This is mine and Scott's preferred method as you can upload in bulk many photo's at one time, is much faster and it retains the quality/size of the photo's.
- Go to http://www.photobucket.com
- Click the 'Join Now' button - it's free, all you have to do is pick your Username and enter a password
- Follow the instructions on the next page, and click "I accept. Sign me up!"
- Once you have accepted, Login
- On the left side of the page, you will see "Albums" and a block where you can enter a new album name. I create albums for each specific type of pictures I have taken. You don't have to create an album at all, but it does keep them organized better if you do.
- If you decide NOT to create an album, click the "Upload Images" button Middle/Upper part of this page. This will open up an explorer type of window and you can pick one photo OR if you press and hold the CTRL button, then click on each photo, you can select several photo's to upload at one time.
- Once you have selected all of the photo's, click the "Open" button in the lower right portion of the 'explorer' screen. Photobucket will now upload the photo's you selected.
- It will show a progress bar as each photo is uploaded.
- Once the upload has completed, Photobucket allows you to 'tag' each photo or name it.
- I usually don't do this
- Now click the 'save and continue' button. This will now take you back to your homepage for Photobucket.
- You should see the photo(s) you just uploaded
- What I do, is start a thread in the GCC forum, I open a new window or tab for you Firefox users, and then navigate to photobucket.com and if necessary, login.
- To show the picture in the thread, like my recent posting with the cruise on Sunday, 9/21, you will need to go to the Photobucket window/tab.
- You will see a few boxes below the photo(s) you just uploaded. Just click the "IMG Code" box. You will notice it says "copied"
- Now, go back to the GCC thread window/tab, click in the message box and press (and hold) the CTRL button followed by the letter V. This will paste that image code in to your message.
- Click the Submit new thread button, and the image will show up in your newly posted thread.
Sounds complicated, but it really is not and is much quicker this way than using the gallery function of the forum. Again, if I missed something, or you just don't get it, let me know.
