It's not what we "hear", it is what is. Not a single point that I made (Geitner was a tax cheat, etc.) was speculation, rumor or opinion.

I'm still waiting to hear what Obama has done corerctly.

Have you considered applying this same question to the global warming proponents? The recent disclosures detailing scientist's attempts to suppress opposing viewpoints and to alter data to fit their conclusion might bring into question their overall credibility.

we all feel sorry for you. ------ we are not hearing it - we are not blind - we can see it - please tell all of us 1 thing who will be the ones that have to pay back this out of control spending - you and I are both old enough where it may not touch us to bad but for once take off your blinders - think of the young members,their children, your children and their gran kids - many jobs now have been lost to overseas and I don't see this trend reversing - how will they raise a familly and live comfortably - this problem has been going on in california for 30 years - cost of living so high both parents have to work and its hard to raise a familly correctly when the husband and wife both out scratching a living - I think we are all still waiting on your answer to what has he done right - please just 1 thing - you ever have a employer and your manager knew very little about his job. kinda rings a bell.

You guys can stop. Karl is gone (via his e-mail notice last night). We're not going to change his mind, he's not going to change our minds, and now he won't be visiting us here. If you're hoping for some verbose explanation, or condemnation, or indignation from me - not going to happen.

I could talk about internet and forum manors, the rules of the Paddock, the philosophy of allowing political discussion on a car club site, new rules for the Paddock, but bottom line - I'm sad that I won't be seeing Karl anymore. I don't care about his politics, just like I don't care about the politics, religion, taste in music, styles of dress, hair styles, (etc. etc.) of anyone else here. I truly enjoy the company of every single person in this club, and now our little club is one less. It's a loss. Karl is a nice guy and I like seeing him from time to time.

Reading a thread is optional. If you don't like the subject matter, move on to the next. If the thread veers off course and you don't like the new subject matter, move on.

Karl chose to respond to Mike's post voluntarily. No one put a gun to his head to participate.

We're all big boys here (or so I thought). If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

I understand what you are saying Mark but as I've said before you are a much nicer and more forgiving guy that I am. I'm with Steve on this one, some people just can't seem to understand what is being done to our country and more importantly to our future generations by the slight of hand that is going on right now by a one man sleeper cell and the people who are pulling his strings while destroying America from within. There is no need or excuse for such a great club to be destroyed from within by the same misguided thoughts.
 
My sole regret is that Karl did not apologize to members of this forum for his inferences that those of us in the club, who historically have disagreed with him, are "liars" and less than intelligent.

I would suggest that as "nice" as he could be at times...Karl unfortunately held most of us in disdain, bordering on contempt. We did not apparently measure up to his level of "understanding"... based on his most recent comments.

I would also agree with Steve that Karl is too thin skinned. Some of my best long term friends have resulted from initial confrontations and disagreements. Friendships that grew out of confrontation and developed into respect. You learn the character of a person by how they respond to criticism. Even if they disagree with your point of view, but respond with integrity, you may still not agree with them , but you learn to respect them as a person and often learn to better appreciate their viewpoints, in the process.

Karl chose to sling disparaging epithets toward members of this club...then leave to pout because we failed to adopt his position while we remained vocal in our opposition.

I actually wish Karl had chosen to stay. As it is, he has only solidified his growing negative opinion of us. Had he been willing to stay and address some of the unanswered questions posed to him....perhaps we all would have benefited from the discussion. Then again...perhaps some of his deeply held beliefs might have been further threatened. This way he avoids further conflict and his beliefs remain unscathed.

I suspect the only person who has lost in this situation ...is Karl.

It's hard for me to respond to this one. I agree 100% with the above quoted words. We have suffered a loss. Kerry is also right. Karl loses in this situation also.

Karl's mistake was not only what he said, but more importantly how he said it. And I'm not talking about his political opinions, but his provocative, inflammatory & emotionally charged rhetoric. We are all entitled to our opinions, but the manner in which you choose to express them is perhaps more important than the substance of what is said if you wish to be respectful & civil to others who hold different opinions.

I was thinking of starting a thread tonight called "Patriotism & Civility" as a means of trying to convince us to speak more civilly to one another within the forum after seeing the rhetoric escalate recently. I guess that's not necessary now. :(

I never did figure out Karl's position other than he did not like any negitivity applied to this administration. I was hoping he would shed some lite on his beliefs in this administration that most of those on here are not too keen on for various reasons.
I do know that his departure exemplifies the attitude of this admin. If you question them they attack you as radical or whatever. Its my ball and I am going home.

I was upset when veterans were called potential terrorists. Yes my county called upon me in 1965, took me to Ft Leonardwood and trained me to kill. That is the primary MOS of any service person. Am I capable, that is for you to determine.
I do not care for the administration(not just Obama) and thier handling of the dire situation we are in by trying to socialize every aspect our lifes. I do not the idea of some worthless piece of crap enjoying the fruits of my 50 years of labor. I pay my taxes so the government can dole it out to those that do not pay any(that is "0", nada, nothing, zero) to live and not work. I think I paid enougth the past few years to support 3 or more families and I cannot find one of them to even cut my grass or wash my car.

I do agree with the previous comments. Sad to lose a fellow Cobra owner/lover.
I don't understand if he just quit reading/posting or dropped out of the club.

I for one enjoy a good discussion, argument or what ever you want call it..I feel I am opened minded enough to listen to the flip side if there is something to back it up and not just ideological jibber-jabber.
 
karl may our prayers be with you in a search for another club that will be able to handle your B.S. and your negative comments thrusted on those whom do not see your point of veiw. you mite think of going to work for barrak on his campain for re-ellection of another round of lies. I am sure if you sign up now by that time you may be his only supporter
