Apparently, Farmers doesn't like having me as a customer anymore as they raised my home insurance rate to an outrageous amount. Other than Farmers, who would you got?

I have Erie Insurance on my homes and there was a significant increase this year. I shopped around hoping to get a better rate but ended up staying with them and raising my deductible.

Am Fam was the highest so far. State Farm was too low as they quoted over the phone without asking any questions. AAA was mid priced, but, still cheaper than what we have and they asked all kinds of questions.

I've had State Farm for 30+ years but looking to make a change when comes due in the fall. I understand State Farm has become difficult on things like hail damage to roofs and such?

I’ve had State Farm for many years, cars- homes - Cobra… actually getting jerked around on roof replacement…BrodyAllen is fighting with them currently… next step they institute legal action with their attorneys (30% fee!!!)… it’s a $36,000 claim…

I am an AmFam agent, and know you already been quoted but if you want to discuss the quotes your getting, I can try to help you out

Lifetime customer of State Farm. Submitted claim for hail damage to roof and car yesterday. How the claims are handled will determine if I look elsewhere or maybe they will drop me?

Scott, forgot about that. We're in the middle of comparing several quotes. Will let you know if I need help

I've got Farmers too and have been fighting with them since I filed my claim in March. So far, I've spoken to my agent, 3 different adjusters, and 3 different Underwriters, and dozens of phone calls/Txts. Ridiculous and frustrating.
I was converted from Met-Life to Farmers when they bought them about 4 years ago, this is my first home claim with them. I will be looking elsewhere after this experience. Not a satisfied customer.

I had State Farm initially, they raised rates suddenly, so I switched. Note-All my neighbors who have State Farm were denied Hail Damage repairs last year, while everyone else was approved.

Then I had Liberty Mutual - No claims, after 3 years, they raised my rate $1000, so I switched.

Now have Geico (sponsored by Homesite). Had no issues with them. Easy to work with on my roof claim last year. They are on par with all other pricing.

Mom had AAA. If you have a sump-pump, be sure to check the box on coverage for sump pump failure as Mom found out when hers failed and damaged hot water heater and furnace. $15K out of pocket. She has switched since then.

You say Am Fam is too high. :( Which is higher, a company that pays their claims and covers the repair, or one which you have to fight with for months hoping they cover the claim?

Old grudges never die, wouldn't give am fam a dollar. 🤬

We also have State Farm and have been hearing all the horror stories about roof repairs. I keep kicking the can but probably should look around. Ugh…..

Yes for sure - for real even the adjuster sent out by State Farm said “ don’t say I said it… but they are worst!!!”… honestly said this to me… I have BroadyAllen Exteriors (LSL) handling details ($37,000 roof) they will proceed legally also … we are about to go that route…

Status update on State Farm roof repair proposal. Claim submitted and adjuster met roofer (West County Roofing) and proposal received within 2.5 weeks. My out of pocket expense is our deductible ($6700 - ouch). Pleased so far as long as we don’t get dropped. Roofer is able to start the end of August.

I do have Ian’s recommended Broady Allen Interiors coming tomorrow morning to compare notes.

Ian…anything I should be aware of with this company?

We have progressive & I was told by my agent upon renewal my deductible is going from $1500.00 to 2% of home value.$
about 6 times higher than now for hail or wind damage.

Not really my guy is DEREK… StateFarm really dragging feet on mine of course my roof is$37,000 give or take ($5k deductible) we are fighting StateFarm… once done I’ll kick them to the curb… interesting even the adjuster (independent sent by StateFarm commented they StateFarm are the worst!!! Yep he said that…) I plan to go with USAA once done, expensive but no hassle as I’m told … 39 years never made a claim to StateFarm… absolute retards! Randy Stegmann- Wentzville - avoid that SOB!
