• For all members (past, current, and new)

THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING TO GET THIS CLUB OFF THE STARTING LINE !!!

To begin your membership with Gateway Cobra Club please submit your vital information to our club registrar/Treasurer: Paul Proefrock

    Please include your:

Name, address, phone numbers (work, home, cell) e-mail, etc. Also, tell us about your Cobra (make, model, year, colors, engine, options, stage of build, etc.), where you bought it, any other particulars. Also include other vehicles, birthdays, your occupation & company, and any other details about you and you significant others. BTW - this info will not be posted on-line (EVER). It's just for us - to make the club better. We will eventually create a database for internal club use only.

We will begin collecting dues soon to enable the activities that we have planned for the year - so stay tuned for that.

FINALLY - get involved. Attend the meetings, schedule some cruises, and have some fun. We want to make this club fun (for the whole family). We're small (for now) but we're going to make a big noise here in St. Louis. In the end - this club will only be as good as our members participation.

Thanks for joining us - see you in the fast lane!

Hi all,

Been working my dream of owning a cobra since Feb this year, had a couple of test drives through FastLane STL (awesome folks), discussed car options for 2 1/2 months with a builder, and finally pulled the trigger in June. I'm cautiously optimistic (controlled excitement) until car is officially delivered (slated for late Nov/early Dec). My wife has been especially supportive of my trackdays (HPDE events) all over the US and now this :-) My 2 boys think its just another car thing dad is doing.

Anyways that's it for now, look forward to meeting you all and maybe joining some cruises after delivery.

Steven, welcome to the Gateway Cobra Club! Look forward to meeting you.

I know Mascoutah is a bit of a drive, but did want to extend an invite to our annual club picnic this Sunday 9/27. See forum posts and calendar on website for more details.

Yay!!! Another track guy!!! :D Makes me happy.....Maybe I overlooked them, but, have you been to Hallet or Putnam? Two of my favorites. These cars are kinda good for that :D Welcome

Thanks Mike. If we decide to go we'll probably bring macaroni salad and chocolate silk pie lol

nice, never been to Hallet or Putnam. I'll probably have a ton of cobra questions regarding trackdays for you :-)

Tell us about the car you're getting. You're having it built for you?

Hi Richgrsc,

I'm working with Vintage Motorsports (Jay) on a Backdraft RT4B GT, 427 SB, EFI, 6-pt/4-pt Willwood Brake kit & ducts, T-56, all black.

The closer we get, the days get longer/slower lol

Welcome Steven, hope you can make it to the Picnic. We've got a couple BDs in the club (3 that I can think of off the top of my head). That new one looks like an awesome track car. Very interested to see it up close, is it similar to the one Dave has at Fastlane?

If it’s at FastLane probably yes, that where I test drove the BD GT versions (wheel arch vents). I’m just not sure if it was an RT3 or RT4. I think they sold it recently.

Sounds like a great car.

Thanks, I still have a lot to learn about the car like from folks in the club with experience. Seen too many newbies at trackdays served “humble pie” lol

Nov/Dec just can’t come quick enough :-)

Hi Tim (trackrat),

Thought you might like this, it was my trackday at Daytona with Chin Trackdays Motorsports last year. Got to give rides with family (they live in Florida), relative in passenger seat got sick but didn't tell me until his wife noticed and shared the info :-) Start at 9:04 (prior to was quiet). https://youtu.be/ShIy6k8A2G8?t=544

Some of my boring in car video is here:

Been about 2 years, almost 3 since I've been on a track. I have more fun when others go.
