Hey folks this event is coming up fast. If you wanted a relaxed, safe, pressure free, fun environment to test your car and your skills, on a driver friendly track - this is it. If you didn't want to run on the track - just come and hang out. Either way, you'll have a good time for sure. I'm going to copy the post from Clois Harlen (on ClubCobra) the event's organizer - BUT I must tell you first that I spoke with Clois today. Current registration is VERY LOW. It takes 45 participants to break even and pay for the track and they are very far from that number. There are a lot of track opportunities, but this event feels like family. Several of us are going and it's always a great time.

Anyway - Here's Clois' post:

May 1, 2012 is the deadline to for all those wanting to take advantage of the early registration. Any registration received after Midnight May 1, 2012 will be subject to the higher rate of $370.00 for Sat and Sun participation.

For those wishing to take advantage of the early registration go to our web site fastlaneclassiccars.com the registration form is the red link in the upper middle of the screen.

Answers to some questions I have fielded this past week:
1. Camping facilities are available at the track complete with showers and restrooms for those wishing to camp. Discount rates are availiable at the Southern Hills Hilton for those wishing a little more refined lodging facility.

2. The track has a full restaurant that serves "Excellent" breakfast and lunch.

3. Fuel air and a complete speed shop is available at the track.

4. Driving instructors will be available for those wishes to improve their skills

5. Racing helmets can be rented for those who either do not have a hemet or their helmet is not 2005 or newer (no motorcycle helmets are allowed).

6. Driving suits are not required but long sleeve cotton shirts and long cotton pants are.

7. Saturday drivers meeting starts promptly at 8:00 am-all drivers MUST attend.

8. Thursday and Friday are optional days for Test and Tune purposes. Cost for those participating in the Sat and Sun event will be $100 for each day. Those drivers only wishing to participate in the TEST N TUNE cost will be $175.00 per day (Thursday and Friday is a Hallett Event and considerations were given to those participating in our Sat and Sun event. Driving instructors will be available all four days for those wishing to improve their skills).

If you have any questions Please give me a call at 918-633-5336

Thank you,

Clois Harlan

Yes, West of Tulsa about 35 miles. Fun track with elevation changes and a long straightaway. Would be a good first event for you and your car. :D

I would love to try hallet but not sure if my car will be ready by then. This gives me one more goal to help me to get it done.

There is a typo in Clois's post. It is actually $175 on Saturday and Sunday and only $100 for Thursday and Friday but you must be registered for the weekend to come down for Thursday and Friday.

Ok, so I'm registered, planning to come in Thursday evening, that means I can pay the $100 and get on the track Friday, right?

You got it!

There will be a senior Bonderaunt instructor there to help us that day as well.

Who is going to make the trip from St. louis?

Me, Mark, Steve and Jim on the track. A few others that will be coming to watch. You going to make it? Which car?

If anyone is interested in going to watch and wants a ride, let me know. I have a couple of open seats.

Will be working on getting the car and trailer prepped today/tomorrow and leaving Thursday morning. :D

Brake fluid changed, track brakes installed, track tires on, blinker fluid added, trailer loaded with tools....leaving tomorrow morning! :D

Final prep for me today. Load up and will be ready for the morning. Gonna be a stellar weekend. You guys are missing out. Gonna be a blast.
