Clois Harlan and I have been working with track events for years and have finally came up with the perfect format for guys like us.

No trophies, no t-shirts, no complicated classes or rules. Just track time and a lot of it. We had everything from the 2002 Pennzoil Indy car to a stock corvette. This isn't a competition, well it sort of is for a few of us but thats more of a grudge match.

We run the track one direction one day and the other direction the next. It is a point by event unless a group wants to go all out and we can make that happen as well.

Here's what Clois posted on club cobra:

Again in 2012 we are renting Hallett Racing Circuit in Tulsa, OK. for some quality track time. Groups dedicated to all levels of driving skills. If we have enough interest we may try and have a spring and late summer or fall event. Below are the dates that we have available. Please email me with your preferred dates (pick two choices) to clharlan@dcpmidstream or send me a pm if you prefer:

March 31 and April 1
June 1 and 2
July 7 and 8
July 14 and 15
August 4 and 5
August 11 and 12
August 18 and 19
September 8 and 9
October 21 and 22

If you joined us last summer you know that you will have as much or more track time than you could possibly want and as last year we will run the track counter-clockwise on Saturday and clockwise on Sunday. Cost will be based on participation but should be less than $300 per weekend. For those that want plenty of space we will be having two groups of no more than 5 cars on the track at a time and then we will have two groups of 15 cars on the track at a time. Still plenty of room to perfect your driving skills on the 1.8 mile track. See the Hallett web site for more track information at:

From Clois:

I hope all of you had plenty of time to spend with your families and an enjoyable and safe Thanksgiving.

June 1 and 2 (which is a Friday and Saturday) the first week of June 2012 was the most popular dates for next TNT Invitational. So save the dates and get your kit cars, replica’s, or whatever you want to refer to your track cars ready. I will be sending out a registration sometime in the early spring. If any of your friends wants to bring their Camaro’s, Vette’s, Saleen’s, Challengers or whatever they like to drive let me know and we can make room for them as well. Also, there was considerable interest in October 20 and 21, 2012 as an additional date. I will have more details to follow as they become available.

A special thanks to all of you that attended the last TNT cooker we had last August 6 and 7, 2011. The June 1 and 2, 2012 should be a lot more driver and equipment friendly. Call me if you have any questions at 918-633-5336.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Wow that will be back to back weekends with the 9th-10 being the autocross nationals in Arkansas.
Chumpcar race at Gateway on the 9-10 as well.

I've sent Clois a message seeing if registrations are being done for this and to re-confirm the dates. Will let you know how he responds. BTW, STEVE - you were right, it is in June.

Well, my streak of bad luck for track events continues. My stupid nephew got engaged and guess what dates they pick for the wedding. Yup, June 1-3. I can't even bow out because they asked my wife to read in the wedding. I think someone's trying to tell me something.

Seems like last year everyone stayed at a Hampton Inn in Tulsa. Me, Mark and Jim stayed in a roadside motel about 5 miles from the track. It wasn't too bad, I liked the fact we could be back at the hotel in 10 minutes or so. Just know that on the "fancy" scale, it rates a 1 out of 10. But, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, and we enjoyed the nights on the porch having man sodas. Tulsa, is a 40 minute drive from the track. We stayed at the Keystone Lake Motel in Mannford, Ok.

I would suggest you and Mark stay at Hampton Inn. Jim and I will stay at Keystone, it really isn't good enough for superformance owners :p

We'll let the chauffeur stay with you guys. He can come pick us in the morning to take us to the track.

Grey Poupon?

Check and registration is in the mail and reservations at the 5 star Keystone Lake Motel in Mannford, OK.

I plan on leaving early Friday. Depending on arrival time and how late the track is open on Friday I may try to get a few laps in.
