So it seems some of the problem with many doing out of town type cruises (more than 2 hours away) is the trip there, storage of vehicle and trip back. Let's say a GROUP of us owners wanted to go the Tail of the Dragon or the Pig's Tail. Let's say a GROUP of us contacted a transportation company and had the cars transported there. We drive ahead in our rented RV, Bus, Van, or personal vehicles and pickup the cars at the other end, made our drive, dropped off the cars. Yep, a lot of coordination would need to happen, but feasible? Again, kind of crazy I know, thoughts? :eek:
 
Yep - crazy - sorry.

I like the drives out of town - I don't mind. Storage is really only dicey in the spring and fall when the weather is questionable. For the bigger multi-state trips - not my cup of tea right now.

But, keep this in mind ... this year we'll have a lot of new members with new cars that have never been on any of the local cruises that we've been on so many times. They may be a little boring to us, but for these guys it will be awesome. The Alton/Grafton runs, the 185 Run, the Potosi Run, So. Illinois Run, the K&K Run, STL Power Tour Run, and plenty more that we haven't even come up with yet.

Just my .02 and worth about that much.
 
Boring, never :confused: I'm still as tense driving this thing as I was the first day. Or maybe I just respect it as much. Like I said, crazy idea :rolleyes:

if you want a trailer queen go ahead, i live in so. county theres "no pidgeons" just doves.meaning i wouldn't thinking of affording that route. but go ahead and spend ur kids inheritance..:p

Nothing says a small group can't do it. I would be game for something like this. What about a poker run?
 
I've been thinking about that Brandon. I see the boating people do it all the time. They stop at different spots on the lake, get a card, then off to the next. The person with the best hand wins.

So, the Cobra way would be to make stops at different car places, Fast Lane, Gateway Classic Cars, MasterTech, Maybe a Ford dealership, Chuck a burger or whatever. Don't know how the boat site does it, maybe they have each stop "sponsored" or something.
 
You are correct lots of poker runs by boat. Also, a lot of bike clubs do them too. Basically, the participants pay a fee. The stops are pre arranged, then the winner gets a prize. A poker run could be small or large, it depends on how many people want to be involved and what the run would be for.

Lots of charitable runs take place. Basically a large portion of the entrance fee goes to the charity. Or if we just do it for fun, the money stays within the club.

There is more to it, but for discussion that is it in a nut shell.
 
I've been on multiple ones in southern Illinois. Very popular with the bike crowd. Most stops are ususally bars. Very simple idea and usually a quick way to raise money for a cause.

Alot of them I have been on were for people who were injured in an accident, or some other form of misforture.

ALWAYS a good time though. I think it is a good idea.
