• For all members (past, current, and new)

THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING TO GET THIS CLUB OFF THE STARTING LINE !!!

To begin your membership with Gateway Cobra Club please submit your vital information to our club registrar/Treasurer: Paul Proefrock

    Please include your:

Name, address, phone numbers (work, home, cell) e-mail, etc. Also, tell us about your Cobra (make, model, year, colors, engine, options, stage of build, etc.), where you bought it, any other particulars. Also include other vehicles, birthdays, your occupation & company, and any other details about you and you significant others. BTW - this info will not be posted on-line (EVER). It's just for us - to make the club better. We will eventually create a database for internal club use only.

We will begin collecting dues soon to enable the activities that we have planned for the year - so stay tuned for that.

FINALLY - get involved. Attend the meetings, schedule some cruises, and have some fun. We want to make this club fun (for the whole family). We're small (for now) but we're going to make a big noise here in St. Louis. In the end - this club will only be as good as our members participation.

Thanks for joining us - see you in the fast lane!

Greetings!

I was just linked in to this new forum today by Purple Venom. A little about myself - important things first. I just ordered a Factory Five Mk III roadster -complete kit, last month. I'm expecting delivery any day...almost as exciting as when my son was born. Don't tell my wife I said that...

I live out in Ballwin, would love to attend any gatherings or upcoming car shows.

If anyone needs any bad advise on architecture, let me know (that's my profession).

Cheers, Scott

Welcome Scott, I just replied to you in the other thread. Be sure and let us know when the new arrival is coming. We love the Cobra stork.

Mike

Waz uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup Dude

Hey Scott: Any friend of Tim's is a friend of mine. Will champaign & cigars be passed out when the stork delivers UR baby? Look forward 2 meeting U. Dave/Matthew 10:16

Hi Scott,

Welcome! Like Mike said, let us know when your delivery in coming. We love to watch folks get all excited while trucks get unloaded. I live off Keifer Creek not too far from Mike and look forward to meeting you.

Tom

Thanks Guys for the warm welcome! It's nice to find a forum that is local, and especially the others here in Ballwin. I'm located off of Henry Road about mid-way between Clayton and Manchester (north of Manchester). Will know more later this week when the Cobra stork picks up my baby in MA at FFR.

BTW - I am going to the FFR build school next month - did any of you do this when you built your FFR? I know Tim bought his a few years ago completed, how about Tom and Mike. Beers and BBQ are on me when this arrives. Planning on having over some other neighboors and a guy in House Springs who is also planning a FFR project later this year (name is Dan).

Scott

Scott,

I built mine back in 2001-02 in the days before build school. I notice you are going with the 4.6 and I look forward to seeing that baby sqeezed in there. My wife has one in her Mustang and every time I look at it, I can't believe it will actually fit in an FFR. I've seen pictures of it done but never in person. Henry road is not far, it'll be nice to have a new build so close.

Tom

Dave,

I really like your color scheme! That is at the top of my list for mine. Was also considering the Silver with anthracite gray or darker gray stripes, with matching wheels. Found some really nice ones that Shelby actually makes, kinda of a modern interpretation of the Bullits, finished in anthracite spokes and polished rim.
Scott

Scott,
With Tom right down the street, I didn't need the build school. Good luck, I hear it's a great class. Hey, did you say beer.....yummmmmmm. Let us know when to be there and listen for the rumble.

Mike

Scott, I can give really ba... uh, good advice when there is beer and brats present. Of course, we would be responsible drivers when we left your house :-) I would love to give you a hand - I know all about brakes, steering racks, and axles now

Hey Tim: Who is gonna volunteer to bring the Hooter's Girls? Any takers? Yikes! Now I'm gettn in trouble. Been there done that. Later Dave/Matthew 10:16

Arrival of the Stewart Cobra Stork - Birth Party

Regarding the arrival party...my wife Michelle said, and I quote "Order a bunch of pizzas, ice up a lot of beer, and I will see you in a few hours when it's all over...if I am there I will end up having to clean up!" I think she is jealous that for once there will be more testosterone at the house then estrogen (Wife, daughter, 3 female dogs, 1 female cat - my son and I are out numbered).

So is this better to have on a weekend - like a Saturday? For all I know Stewart Transport will show up any day once they load my kit - which is not convenient for all of you who work a job to just drop everything and head to West County.

Let me know and I will likewise keep you all posted on the arrival status. I wish I could just give this baby that stuff they use to induce humans into birth, but unfortunantly I am at the mercy of FFR and Stewart...

Ciao for now. Scotty

Scott,

Let me know if you need any help with the 4.6, it was quite a learning experience to say the least. Are you keeping the PAT's, rear O2's?

Craig,

Since I am going the non-donor route and complete kit with my FFR, honestly I have no idea yet what I am getting myself into with the 4.6 mod engine. I just want the modern drivetrain and EFI. What you say - this guy jumped into this project without having all the answers on this stuff. That's me....I'm going to figure it out with the help of these forums, the build school in Detroit that I am attending next month, and persistance! Oh yeah, and a few words that I shouldn't repeat in front of my 5 yr old and some beer!
I would love you assistance man...that kind of experience is irreplaceable.

I'm not sure I will need the PATS and rear 02s since my engine will be either a crate (new) or a really really low mileage donor. I am still thiking DOHC if I can find one that doesn't break the bank. The extra 16 valves just sounds so damn sweet. Not to mention the extra rwhp!

The complete kit comes with a full chassis wiring harness, so I won't have to diet or mickey mouse with the donor wiring, which I believe where the PATS comes into play. I am getting the FFR hooker 4 into 4 headers, which I think will have to be tapped for one set of O2 sensors. The manual I have says to delete one set (orignally 4) with the SOHC motors.

We'll see. I'm still waiting to here back from Collin Stewart on when they are delivery my new baby.

Dave - I'll tell my wife you are going to blow her socks off!!! She knows she is invited, but she is a horse person and I think getting her to come with me to these meetings and cruises will be tough. Will your wife be there, or anyone elses? If so, that may be my ticket to get het to come.

Ciao for now...

Scotty

Cruise 2 Lebanon IL on May 3

Hey Scotty: Yes by ALL means nessary (sometimes pouting & begging works, but don't push it, :D or if that fails BRIBE her w/horse concessions, but only as a last resort otherwise U may set a dangerous precedent) ( man that was a long winded paranthetical) get her 2 come. :D Yes wives are invited & I am 99% sure my wife will be there & others as well. Our son goes 2 McKendree U. in Lebanon. Tell Michelle that there R cutsie "girly" shops ala St. Charles, Mo. 4 her to shop in. If U & URs meet us @ Lottawatta Creek Rest. @ 4pm for eats beforehand, I will let U & URs drive my beast over 2 Lebanon from the Rest. That is if I can talk her into driving my vette to the Rest. Or we'll figure something else out. Dave/Matthew 10:16
