David Ahner just called and reported that a friend of his has purchased Gateway International Speedway. He reports that the track will re-open in early 2012 with a full year of events on the new drag strip, road course, and oval track. He has invited us to the track ANYTIME, and plans on starting up the Tuesday night street tires drag sessions in the spring. I'd like to get some time on the road course too. He welcomes us to plan an event for the club in 2012.

It was either the BMW or porsche club ran out there last month.
I have done a couple thousand laps at Gateway on the road course on the bike,don't think i would take the cobra around there at speed, 0 run off.
 
Mark and I have both been around the road course, maybe not at top speed, but enough that I got scared a time or two :eek: :D So, by inviting us over ANYTIME, does that mean, we can run the road course? What's the catch to "ANYTIME" ?
 
There will be an open house from 10-4 this Saturday the 10th at Gateway.

Going to my Dad's for his 83rd birthday, so i won't be there. Would be nice if 4 or 5 of you could represent the club though.....please?.
 
I'd love to go. Rich you driving your cobra? Can I hitch a ride? Sounds like something the club should do, who knows maybe help in getting track day. Good to see something going on at Gateway. We need this track for St.Louis

I'm open wasn't going to spend all day but set a time we will meet up to go Haven't heard back from Rich.

I dont know, looks like the weather maybe iffy. Was hopping a few of us could take our cars but with the weather unknown ???????
OK, now the weather looks good depending on which site you check. Some body give me a time and place, We just going in our DD's?
