Free Ice Cream.....

Basically he's build electro magnets. They generate a specific field based on the rotation on the winding. The magnets he places on.the end of the popsicle stick are to opposite pole to the winding, thus when power is applied, they push the magnets away. This spins the small generator which in turn feeds power back into the system. The output of the generator is tied to the electro magnetic feed. Basically he made a mini tesla generator. I've been wanting to build a big one for the house for a while now.

Yup, Dan-O get's the free ice cream next time he's in his Cobra, with me, at an ice cream stop :D :p

I just thought it was pretty simple how he built it. Great science experiment for young minds :D

I want to build a large scale one in the basement that would feed into the house power supply, but I have to install a unit to keep the power from back feeding to the pole first. I'll do that after the car of course

So where does the power come from to keep the generator spinning? Perpetual motion is BS

the magnets fields are supplying part of the push. It doesn't take much electrical power to generate the fields through the windings. if the generator is producing say 5-6 volts and 2-3 amps and the powering the windings only takes 1-2 volts and an amp, then the residual power is powering the light. Obviously we don't know the output, but it has to be something like this. I've seen the same thing on a much larger scale without the electro magnet. Just some large industrial magnets place at angles in a UHMW disc and corresponding magnets placed in a clamp that surrounded the disc. As you closed the clamp around the disc, without touching it, the magnetic poles shoved the disc away and rotated the disc inside. The disc was set to a jack shaft that multiplied the force turned a generator for power. It was very cool. Don't quote me, but I believe the electro-magnets provide the same or greater field strength than the larger industrial magnets, but in a smaller space. Thanks Tim, this has been a fun conversation piece. For an ice cream, I'll drive my truck on a cruise or ride with someone. :)

If I ever decide to go fishing for suckers, I know where to toss the bait . . .

jk

it is bs, though.
