The photo shown in the link was taken from Hwy 32 just East of Hwy Z looking West. That
location is about 3.5 miles from the farm and is part of the route where our first Southern Cruise traveled.

Note the stop sign in the left foreground. This is the intersection of county road 72 and
32.

Hwy's DD and 32 were closed since Thursday but are open today.

600 acres have burned and 100 acres are still burning but at least it is contained as of today.

The interviews by Gov Nixon and Sheriff Medley are worth listening to but the interview
of the state fire marshal probably has more information about the fire.

It appears that for now we are OK as long as fireworks don't make the situation worse.

This photo was taken today at 2:00 pm from the same location where flames jumped across the road to the North side of Hwy 32. The fire is now contained with a few areas smoldering... but nothing like it was yesterday.

The court battle has been a real nightmare that won't end. The 17th of next month will be the one year anniversary of the break-in and we still do not have a trial date set. The defense attorney has delayed setting a trial date now three times. She has change the venue from Iron County to Wayne County where it is a two hour round trip drive for every court appearance. According to the prosecutor the change of venue was made to the most economically depressed county in the state in an effort to insure the jury pool will be more sympathetic to the defendant. That...and the fact that the defendant and his wife have friends and family that live in Wayne County. We are now on our FORTH judge and the prosecutor has indicated we will likely not got to trial until Jan 2013...
The judicial system bends over backwards to insure the defendants receive every possible opportunity to beat the system while leaving the victims at the mercy of the defense attorneys.
