Fire Extinguisher

safety first

keep one in my truck all the time, 2 for my RV.....sprinks saves life...have a sprink head in my mechanical room tied to my water source...fires suck in auto, home ect...
lost a good friend and family to a house fire, my bro's best friend...:(

Any idea what brand that is? Single loop rollbar. Square taillights. Bolt-on wheels. Doesn't look like any in the club. I would like to know what happened that started the fire.

Tampa Bay - w/ West Virg. plates. Somebody on CC suggested a fuel leak.

That car is HOT!

sorry, couldn't resist.

That is truely sad, I could picture myself standing on the curb crying, even if it wasn't mine!

I like the looks of having the extinguisher on the trans hump (just look cool! chrome and red on black, my favorite colors!), but now I have a definate respect for them. Won't be an option in my car, standard equipment, these pictures just confirmed that.

That is very sad indeed. My extinguisher is at the front of the tunnel within easy reach and has been since day one. I pulled it one day when I stopped for gas during my first outing of the year a couple years ago and smoke was pouring out of the hood scoop. I was relieved to find a leaky valve cover gasket dripping oil on the header that hadn't caught fire (yet). That picture has me thinking that a fire bottle with a couple of nozzles under the hood might be a good winter project.

Halon is not available, deemed a hazard to human life. Wish I would have known this when I was in an enclosed building when the stuff went off. No, it doesn't suck the oxygen out as believed, but it will extuingish a fire. The latest is ABC or Carbon Dioxide. For our shelters, we use the ABC for electrical equipment room and the Cardon Dioxide for our generator room (where there is fuel).

halon system would of killed u or made u brain-dead to a point, the alarms used to go off and u had a certain time frame to evac. they used to use them in computer areas, now mostly they are a dry sprink system
activated by smoke/dust detectors under the computer floor at the ceiling and above the ceiling the alarm goes off and say 15 secs. the tamper goes and fills the system. the head where there is fire will open if temp is at that range the compressed air leaves and u get wet. the movies always show all the heads going off thats all show.. unless its a open head design meaning no temp vials or lead melt valves very rare to see an open head design.
Ansul system took the place of halon normally in restuarant/kitchen hoods ect..basically a hand activated switch off to the side for egress to extinquish the fire, or if fire runs rampet it shuts the fire ducts and activates the system. a little more involved to explain, also very dangerous to humans. there are also nitrogen extinquisers "nasty nasty " i prefer the carbon-d extinquisers to chill my beer:D
there is also water type extinquisers i have 2 a the lake house 2.5 gallons of water and 30+ air pressure and u can get ur favorite person wet from a distance..i prefer pretty women in t-shirts:D
but for under the hood ABC or throw a blanket and stand back,

Guess that explains my problems and nervous ticks I have :D Seriously, I wasn't killed, nor am I brain dead.

fire hot!!!!

ok but maybe the 70's burned some cell's UP....but i would say u were lucky
but back on track fire extinquishers pay their weight in gold Auto, home, industry, and a ocasional wet t-shirt contest:Dto keep the fire out............but who would be brain-dead then...
only one brain workin then.........can u feel the fire:Dmine still works when i feel like it needs too.............................. - .- -. .-:D what life is almost all about
... . -.-- .- Leo
