In an effort to get everyone a chance to cruise in a group this fall, NAJA65 has volunteered to lead a local day cruise called the Fall Colors Run. This will be done on a Sunday in October. See the poll and vote on the day you would and could make a day cruise (about 180 miles or so). For those that are going on Supercruise in Harrison, Ar this COULD end up being done the same weekend, and actually, is preferred by Keith at this time. Keep in mind that the average peak weekend for colors in and around St Louis is mid to late October. So, please vote on the dates so Keith can begin planning the cruise! :D

EDIT: BTW this cruise is open to both paying and non paying members. I would hope that after taking this cruise those that are non paying get to see how much fun we have as a group and join the club. :D

Are you going to send an email to all members / non-members? and FB for the Forum-impaired?

I was thinking of reaching out to Wibby once the date is set and trying to get him to join us, at least for the cruise.
Maybe Leo too.

Waiting on Keith(NAJA) to respond with his preferred date. His cruise, so his dates. I don't have e-mail addresses for non-members....this is the only notice I was going to send out.

Keith leads a great colors cruise. We will be out of town on vacation with the Kids and Grandkids for a week in October but if we are home on the chosen Sunday we won't miss it.

Bringing this to the top and requesting you vote on the poll above and let us know if you plan to attend so we can secure the date and get planning done.

2015 Fall Color Run

Tim, thanks for running the poll. Looks like the majority are liking November 1st. Bummer, that was the day I mentioned at the Kimmswick Cruise that we would be in Chicago for the Jethro Tull Concert - for that whole weekend, actually. If the run still goes down for that day, I would be happy to plot a course and pass it to someone willing to navigate and lead the slither.

Dang, I started another thread about this.

Keith/Tim,

My $.02

11/01 is also a popular date for the train to Hermann pole. Since Keith offered to lead this cruise I suggest we do Hermann on 10/31 or 11/01 and schedule the Fall Color Run either just before Supercruise or the same weekend for those that aren't able to attend?

Keith, your cruise, your date....Pick it, and that's what it will be. I think the majority of the attendees are those that will be at Supercruise....so, let's use it as a shake down cruise the weekend before Supercruise. Sound good?

Ok, I've revised the poll keeping the top vote getters (minus 11/1 due to the Hermann train trip) and adding the Saturday's in to the mix. The thought was knowing Skip works most Saturday's we could get him out for a cruise. Sooo, if you haven't previously voted on the poll, please do so now. If you would like to change your vote, post here so we can track. I know, it's a busy time of the year.

So the poll shows 2 voted for10/25 but theres 3 names showing. All 3 of those will be in Harrison that weekend, how you going to do that?

Hmmm....ok, poll closed...respond if you want a FCR and when. I'm sure we can get all 3 of us on the same page

Since Keith (NAJA) is leading, I say his choice of 10/17 or 10/18?

10/09-10/11 is Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival.
10/22-10/25 is Supercruise.
11/01 looks to be Hermann train trip.

Could do 10/24 or 10/25 but as Tim already stated, most of the likely participants will be at Supercruise.

Thanks, Mike.
Gentlemen, and ladies, if any are present, if you will allow me.

I can plan, lead, and execute a Gateway Cobra Club Fall Color Run on only one of the following dates: 17th, 18th, 24th, or 25th. My personal preference is the 17th or 18th as this would allow the Arkansas travelers, should they so desire, to participate. The route is already on paper and soon to be delivered to the GPS planner. It tends to the north (although going to Mexico would be a bit foolish), so the trees may be a bit ahead of what we could then be seeing in the metro. It really always is a guess, anyway.

As some of you know, I can't give it all away, but I would like to start a thread with the FCR details (yeah, right!!) as a teaser. It doesn't really matter for a head count for reservations until about a week before.

Anyone who has been on one of my earlier cruises (8-12 years ago) can attest to some surprises to be expected along the way. This FCR will be tending toward that end, but the truth is I am a bit rusty and find myself literally coming out of "retirement" to do this one. As time passes, more ideas are popping into my warped mind. So . . . I will say more about it at the September and October meetings!

I hope that enough can make the run to make this comeback cruise a success, but irregardless of how this FCR turns out, I would let to make dibs here and now to put together a Spring Run in memory of the 5th anniversary of CS's passing MAY 10, 2017.

PV, do you have a preference where to post and run the FCR discussion thread? I was thinking you were hoping to make this one available to fence sitting non-members.

Keith leads a great colors cruise. We will be out of town on vacation with the Kids and Grandkids for a week in October but if we are home on the chosen Sunday we won't miss it.

THANKS, Tom!
I am, of course, very much in hopes of you and Linda being able to make it. It has been so long since I've done one, I pray it won't disappoint your expectation!!

I also have forgotten whether it is Deb's or Matt's turn to copilot!! Matt will, however, likely set me straight!;)

Chicken coop where this one resides is fine Keith. I'll be available for the 17th, if the 18th, I may have to bug out a little early to pickup Linda from the airport as she will be returning from a 2 week cruise (on water :D)
