In case you missed it, we have a cruise this weekend, Sunday to be exact, led by Keith and Matthew. We will meet at the BP at exit 251 off I-44 at 9:30 - 9:45 and leave there by 10AM. Yes, it will be a cool start, so dress in layers. Post any questions you have here.

Important Info for the Run Sunday!

Fall Colors are among us. Here is the info for Sunday that will help you get the most out of the FCR, "You Can't Tan in Yucatan, But You Can Can-Can".

What to bring:
- Layered clothing / head coverings. For some, the day may start out in the 30's!!
- Bring something to place the puzzles on as you and/or your navigator compete for prizes.
- Something to write with! A pencil with eraser is highly recommended.
- Camera or other image recording device.
- Cell / Smart Phone, although, where we are going you may not always have bars!!:eek:
- OPTIONAL - cooler.
- OPTIONAL - lawn chairs.
- OPTIONAL - sun tan lotion.
- OPTIONAL - speedos / bikinis.

What to expect:
- Each vehicle, with a 50/50 ticket purchase, will receive 2 puzzles, a Word Find & a Crossword.
- As you complete a puzzle, turn it in to me at the next pit stop, to have the time recorded.
- Prizes will be awarded at the final pit stop. Accuracy and completeness will establish ranking.
- Time turned in will be used for tie breaking. Earliest time of two equally qualifying entries wins.
- There will be 4 prizes, Crossword 1st & 2nd place, and Word Find 1st & 2nd place.
- Since the Word Find is so damn difficult, those 1st & 2nd place prizes will be higher valued.
- The 50/50 will also be drawn as the final prize.

What do they cost?:
1 ticket $1 (@ $1.00 each)
6 tickets $5 (@ $ 0.83 each*)
15 tickets $10 ( @ $ 0.67 each*)
40 tickets $20 (@ $ 0.50 each)
100 tickets $40 (@ $ 0.40 each^)
* approximate value.
^ your very best value!

FYI: Although I will be participating in the 50/50 ($40 worth), I will not be competing for the prizes. Grading your answers will be entertaining enough!:p:rolleyes:

Other Info:
The restaurant is a cafe style Ma and Pa. The food ranges from Hot Dog, Brat, Burger & Fries, to Philly, Reuben and clubs, to meat and potato meals. The Sunday Special rotates and, on this particular Sunday, it is Meatloaf dinner.

There is also shopping opportunities. Are any of my Kimmswick shop-a-holics going to be along? I know I will miss Linda's keen bargain eye!!

Since NAJA got pukin' coolant sick on the way to the meeting last night, curtailing the trip, I wanted to share the above with the participants and also have it in the meeting minutes. Hope everyone gets adequate advance notice. The highly detailed and informative cruise guide :rolleyes: will have info as well.

Remember - You Can't Tan in Yucatan, But You Can Can-Can!

And finally, just in case, if you have not yet figured it out, we are going to (through)(the) Yucatan!!:D

Keith, how are the repairs coming along? I invited a friend to come along, will one more be ok for the restaurant reservations?

Kerry/Kathy - I didn't know if ya'll were coming or not, so I filled my seat.

With a confirmed 17, and the potential for a few more being indicated, I reserved 22 seats. You're good!

I wish I could offer up some good news on NAJA's condition. But here is the latest skinny on the Snake.
A mechanic friend of mine came by late in the day yesterday and with a pressure testing rig, we discovered a gasket pin hole leak in the timing cover to block gasket at the top right corner. It was very late in the day - working outside on the apron - so we agreed to hit it again this morning at 8:00. I am up now - getting ready to run to town for FRESH Doughnuts.

The theory for what happened is pretty amazing and when I see you Sunday - whether with or without NAJA, I will explain it to you and see what you think!

Hopefully, all will go smoothly and straight forward today and it will be ready for the run. This has all been a "hurry up and wait" exercise since Wednesday!

Speaking of surgery...I hate to say it but I will not be able to make it on the FCR tomorrow.:( I had outpatient surgery yesterday (nothing serious) and will need to take it easy this weekend to make sure I am fine for SuperCruise.

Keith, hope things go well with NAJA today. Have fun and be safe tomorrow!!

Mike P.

Damn I hate to do this, but I'm not going to make it either. :( I caught a head cold, so I'm tucking in so I can be well for Super Cruise.

Naja. I won't make the FCR tomorrow either. The wedding I knew I had to attend today is apparently out of town and an over night stay. Didn't know the part about overnight, out of town. I'm told I only hear what I want to hear. Heard that.
Have fun. Kent.

So, the revised attendees are:
Me/Terri
Keith/Matthew
Keith/Laurie W.
Mark P.
Rick/Elizabeth
Kerry/Kathy

Ya'll didn't have to make up excuses, we all know it's going to be too cold for the sissys' :p :D On a serious note, I realize things come up and all, really I do, but there was some effort put in to planning the route as well as lunch. It is much appreciated that you all advised that you wouldn't be there tomorrow so it can be planned around. Sorry if it sound like I'm chastising you, not the intent. Just trying to let you know that it's not always so simple to cancel things.

Get well all....because if you cancel on my Supercruise, I'll come to your house expecting a Dr's note or a hearse in the driveway :p :D :D :D

Long underwear - check
2 shirts - check
Hoodie - check
Jacket - check

Sunny & Clear, just a bit nip in the morning.

I kinda thought maybe they were trying to make it easier on me if the NAJA was going to be kaput and they were no way gonna be tagging around behind a fully loaded Town Car!!!:eek:

Anyway, there are others going PV:
To Wit:
Randy W. w/ Cobra Replica (FFR)
David M. and Tina w/ Mustang
David had hinted some of his other Mustang Maniacs may be in tow as well!!

Mark and Madison are in as well :D

In Madison's Mustang, or Mark's Vette? Or, are they each driving???:cool:

Just got off the phone with FCR guest David M. He has a friend with a '93 Cobra Mustang and his wife and child joining us. So that takes care of the "extra places" at the restaurant!

I think I have David talked into dropping his top as well!!!:rolleyes:

October
by
Robert Frost (from A Boy’s Will, 1915)

O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow’s wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
Slow, slow!
For the grapes’ sake, if they were all,
Whose leaves already are burnt with frost,
Whose clustered fruit must else be lost—
For the grapes’ sake along the wall.

:)

See you at the BP station.
