Since the first thread/poll got screwed up (by me), I thought it may be best to start another to keep from confusing folks. I've started a new poll as well. Comments below are from Keith.

Gentlemen, and ladies, if any are present, if you will allow me.

I can plan, lead, and execute a Gateway Cobra Club Fall Color Run on only one of the following dates: 17th, 18th, 24th, or 25th. My personal preference is the 17th or 18th as this would allow the Arkansas travelers, should they so desire, to participate. The route is already on paper and soon to be delivered to the GPS planner. It tends to the north (although going to Mexico would be a bit foolish), so the trees may be a bit ahead of what we could then be seeing in the metro. It really always is a guess, anyway.

As some of you know, I can't give it all away, but I would like to start a thread with the FCR details (yeah, right!!) as a teaser. It doesn't really matter for a head count for reservations until about a week before.

Anyone who has been on one of my earlier cruises (8-12 years ago) can attest to some surprises to be expected along the way. This FCR will be tending toward that end, but the truth is I am a bit rusty and find myself literally coming out of "retirement" to do this one. As time passes, more ideas are popping into my warped mind. So . . . I will say more about it at the September and October meetings!

I hope that enough can make the run to make this comeback cruise a success, but irregardless of how this FCR turns out, I would let to make dibs here and now to put together a Spring Run in memory of the 5th anniversary of CS's passing MAY 10, 2017.

I'm ok with Saturday 10/17 too, just forgot to vote on that day. Come on folks, 39 views and 8 votes?

Pre-run completed last Saturday. I plan on being at the meeting 9/8/2015 with info.

4, yes, 4 pit stops - all having 93 octane.

Clarification: the end of the cruise occurs at the same location as the start, I am counting that as the 4th and final pit stop!

Could not get to the September meeting. The FCR will be on Oct. 18th. Need a head count for restaurant by the October meeting.
Thanks!

I told everyone there that it would be 10/18. Turnout was light for the meeting.

I will be there....Linda will not as she will be coming back from her cruise that day.

Bringing this to the top. Keith needs a total headcount for this event. If you plan to go, please reply with how many.

Keith, it will just be me in my car.

I closed the poll since it has been decided that 10/18 would be the date for this. Attendees so far are:
Me
Keith/Matthew
Gary
Kent
Keith W.
Mike P.
Mark P.

This is an open cruise for anyone reading this. Keith has put in a bit of hard work and if past events are any indication, you will have fun on this cruise. So, get out and spend a few hours with us....we won't bite :p :D

Anyone else besides above? You need to respond by Monday. Monday, Keith will be making reservations.

I have sent Keith an e-mail message to get his attention to this to release some details for meet time/place. I will have an empty seat.

Jeez, it is only a bit (NPI) over two weeks away. My how time flies when you are busy being RETIRED!! Thanks for tracking me down, Tim!

You know, we had a blast at the picnic, and Matt was very appreciative of Madison's generosity. Matt wound up being in a few frames of the FOX Sports Midwest telecast of that Reds / Cards game. Papa was no where to be seen, though. (But, you know how hard it is to round up those RETIRED guys, right?) But, the Cards won the game, we loved it!!

Anyway, I "Ramble On".

The following is an excerpt from the official guide to the 2015 GCC FCR, entitled "You Can't Tan in Yucatan, But You Can Can-Can". Each participant will receive a copy of the complete, detailed, and highly informative guide at the below mentioned Brief Drivers meeting. Here is what you need to take away from this post:

Sunday, October 18, 2015

"9:15 - 9:45 Meet and Greet at the Wayside BP Station located on Highway 100, just off I-44 at Exit 251. They have 93 octane. From Westbound I-44 go up the ramp, go right, and right again at the light. BP is just past the Mr. Fuel Truck Stop on the right. Ensure you are both, filled (tank and belly), and relieved.

9:50 Brief Drivers meeting. Tips for safe, sane, and sensible cruising. Use at your own risk.

LEG ONE
10:00 Slither Commences - Westbound on Highway 100. . . For just a little ways.
