F5R Hot Rod

Tim,
I've seen some that look good, and some that I really don't like...
I'ts a great kit, I just don't think it's my cup of tee..

It's growing on me. Not my cup either, but depending on the style, it can be really a neat looking car that handles, supposedly, as good as the roadster.

its a complete kit at $20000 or you can split it into 2 seperate packages, build the first half then order the second when you save up enough to finish it out, price remains the same but doubles your shipping costs.
It has a cantilever front suspension that sits inboard so its not visible, similar to F1.Uses any ford motor ,trans combination.

I dont like the wheels, but you really need to get one. I would love to see how they go together, and its something you would like with SBF in it, can you say 351 w/stacks.

I'm trying to like it. I can appreciate it. I just don't warm up to it. I know it fills a market segment for F5R and that's good for them, and it's probably the most popular of all hot-rod styles. I wonder if they are thinking of other kits to design. A few come to mind for me: Jaguar C-Type, Jaguar XJ-13, T-Buckets, or something based on a modern driveline. Just radomizing.

We have a F5 33 being built here in town by a friend I used to race drag bikes with. In fact...we met street racing in 1973-74. He has made a lot of progress based on the pictures he has sent me and should be running this summer.

His name is Steve Cohea and although he has been invited to the forum I don't think he has chosen to join...yet. Perhaps he will after the car is finished.

Can you share a pic of his progress Kerry? I just think the '32/33 hot rod cars are really cool with stacks, superchargers or whatever. Just looks cool.

Factory Five does have a car in the works that is based on the Subaru WRX. I think they are still looking for a name and finalizing the design. Think, Lotus knock off sort of - http://www.factoryfive.com/whatsnew/update/nextcar/818intro.html
