• For all members (past, current, and new)

THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING TO GET THIS CLUB OFF THE STARTING LINE !!!

To begin your membership with Gateway Cobra Club please submit your vital information to our club registrar/Treasurer: Paul Proefrock

    Please include your:

Name, address, phone numbers (work, home, cell) e-mail, etc. Also, tell us about your Cobra (make, model, year, colors, engine, options, stage of build, etc.), where you bought it, any other particulars. Also include other vehicles, birthdays, your occupation & company, and any other details about you and you significant others. BTW - this info will not be posted on-line (EVER). It's just for us - to make the club better. We will eventually create a database for internal club use only.

We will begin collecting dues soon to enable the activities that we have planned for the year - so stay tuned for that.

FINALLY - get involved. Attend the meetings, schedule some cruises, and have some fun. We want to make this club fun (for the whole family). We're small (for now) but we're going to make a big noise here in St. Louis. In the end - this club will only be as good as our members participation.

Thanks for joining us - see you in the fast lane!

Everyone Welcome LtMike

Welcome Mike - fill us in - what's up ?

Glad to find folks with a common interest

I'm 58 years young and newly retired after 35 years with the St. Louis Police Department where I ran the Crime Lab, hence the computer title. I live with my wife in south county where I just built a new 30' by 40' detached garage with hot water radiant heating and I love it. I tell my wife it's my retirement home.

I bought a FF Mk ll back in 2003 when we lived in a smaller home in the City. I was progressing great with the build when suddenly I received dissappointing news from my doctor that he discovered I had lung cancer. This was a shock as I had no illness or medical problems of any kind. After five surgeries during which they removed a left kidney, and portions of both lungs, and alot of down time, I'm back :D. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and riding my Harley. I also belong to the Blue Knights, a motorcycle club made up of current and retired police officers.

Having changed homes, finishing my career with the Department, building the new garage myself, and recovering from the surgeries over the last several years, I put the Cobra on hold. Now it's time to finish it and enjoy.

I'm at the stage where about all it needs is painting, but before I do that I'd like to get it titled. Since I've never built a car or gone through the title process I'm looking farward to any advice from experienced builders. I'd really like a "look-over" and critique of the build, pointing out mistakes or problem areas from experienced owners.

Being the new guy to the club I don't want to step on any toes but I'd welcome hosting a Club meeting in the new heated garage where I could get a "once over" of the car from anyone interested in providing their comments. My wife enjoys cooking and has offered to provide snacks. I live right off I 255 and Tesson Ferry. The garage is large enough, warm and with the hot water heat, it is quiet. Let me know.

I look farward to getting to know the club members. I'm terrible with names (old age) so be patient.
Thanks, Mike

Sounds like fun to me. Maybe we can round up some guys in the next couple of weeks and get down there some Saturday morning. Chime in guys !

Welcome LT. Mike! My time in town is limited...but I subscribe to the "pay it forward" adage, and will do my best to make it out to your garage if you have a "gathering". I just had one last weekend. There are quite a few knowledgeable guys who have been through the inspection and titling process and will help you get ready.

Hi Mike,
Wow, you've been through a lot, glad you're back to doing something that you can enjoy. I hope to be able to help out as well. Titling has become a lot less trouble than it was in years past since it can now be registered as a 1965 replica thanks to the efforts of SEMA and Senator Dolan. Make sure you have all of your paperwork and receipts in order and then it's a matter of setting up Your inspection appointments. I think Randy is about to set out on this mission soon and should have some great feedback of what and what not to do. I did it all 7 years ago and since I'm not much younger than you :) my recollections are getting a little hazy.

Welcome aboard Mike. And if your offer is really open, we may could even have the March meeting there, Mark, what do you think? I didn't have one problem registering mine, bought it at FastLane :D I'm heavily in to modding mine right now, and have found several things that I've corrected on mine, at least, corrected to my satisfaction. As Tom reminded me this past weekend several times, it's not wrong or better if the owner of the car is satisfied with it.

Hey LtMike it's great to have you on board. I'm 58 yrs young too. It's great to have someone with your experience in law enforcement on board so when our club Pers. does burnouts in front of the popo you can help bail him out.:D:p BTW March's meeting is scheduled for 3/10/09 @ Fastlane @ 6pm so maybe April's meeting at Ltmike's???
