Enclosed Trailer

Have the two of you ever taken a ride together in the cab of a tow truck for 150 miles with the Cobra on the flatbed? WE HAVE! NOT FUN. How's that for a selling point?

Can't keep at my house. My thought is to keep it at my Dad's in Arkansas during the winter, then bring it home sometime in April or May for the year's events. Right now, I have the following trips for this year:

1) Muncie Drags - 5/23
2) London Cobra Show - June 24 - 27
3) Tail of the Dragon (?) - July
4) RNG - September 23 - 25
5) 2nd Annual Pig's Trail Ride - October

That's enough to justify a trailer, right?

How about adding number 6 to the list

6) Helping Chuck & friends trailer his newly completed BDR from Dean's house in Centralia to O'fallon :D - Early April

Now if I could only get some funds from the same crowd that approved this move  :D

Chuck, If I have it by then, sure, but it would be more fun to drive it home, wouldn't it?

I agree and I would if I could but......Gotta get it registered in MO first!! Need to trailer it here so I can eventually get it to Jeff City or Troop C plus the safety inspection. I'll know more as I delve into the process.

Chuck,

I went through that whole mess last year. I can can walk you through it step by step. My car came with an Oklahoma title and was a 2002 Cobra. Didn't fly. Anyway it's a long story. Once I figured out the process and where to go it went smooth. Had a lot of help from others in the Club. If you are at the meeting next week we can talk.

Mike

So how would I determine a location in the floor for the tie downs? I've seen the track system used, but really don't think that is safe, at least the d-rings have a plate that is attached directly to the frame. So really, I guess it depends on the trailer's frame layout?

This is the type of tie down I was talking about for the front tires then 2 in the rear. Maybe overkill but very easy to use, quick and safe.

Thanks for the offer and I'll take you up on it. however I won't be at any meetings until April as I'm knee deep into my son's ice hockey season. PM me with your phone # and I'd like to chat with you. Now back to Tim's topic......

David at Fastlane has one for sale for $5500 that is 24 feet with some work done to the inside. Someone at the last meeting might remember more about it than that but you could always call him.

Actually Tim already looked at it, but it's too big. 24ft if to big to keep at the house, and too big to pull with his truck - it's a monster.

Ok, think I found it, in Mark's backyard at Mid America in Eureka (thanks Mike) - check out this listing - http://stlouis.craigslist.org/bfs/1563754352.html - Trailer lists for $9500, he has it on clearance at $6500. The walls are amazing, you can bang against them and no dents, no rivets, has interior lighting already installed, 5200 lb axles (most every other I looked at was 3500 lb) They will be adding the E-Trek tracks for tie downs and a extender ramp for the back door. What do you think? It is a lot of trailer for the money where most would have options making it cost twice as much. Anyone want to volunteer a place to store it until I get my boat sold?

Tim,
I would bet that to get it sold they might just let you store it there as long as you set a reasonable time limit. I do it all the time just to get the sale done.
