I finally got an account set up to sell a couple of toys...did not have any luck.
Starting looking the the "buy" section....baddddd thing to do.
Went to St Louis to look at one of interest ....was not what I was looking for.this one had a blown motor and I was looking for something to put my 347 stroker in. It did sell this morning for his "sell it now" price.
Was winning bidder this morning a new toy....no, not another Cobra.
I have always wanted a '60s type street rod...well I guess I got it...it is a 2 seater but I may not have a passenger as the wife wasn't too pleased..
Now the fun starts....lets see who can guess what it is.
Not sure of any prize for the winner unless the counsler can get Bernie to send me a box of Rolex's.

OK - a 60's street Rod, 2 seater, gets a 347, wife wasn't pleased, and now the fun starts ... let's see

It's a ...

Vette
Avanti
Corvair
T-Bird

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

60's type 2 seater street rod. ????????? Mustangs have 4 seats. VWs have 4 seats. Corvettes have 2 seats. I'm guessing it not a corvette though. I give up. The riddlerMikeW has stumped me. Anybody else. BTW Love Ebay its the ultimate Candy store. :D

Not trying to torture anyone but myself. Picked it up Saturday morning..seller was in Savannah Ga and agreed to meet me in Dalton Ga(over 1/2 way for me but saved me 10 hr of driving. Looked it over and it was pretty much as he represented it so we had a deal. Headed home about 7am, got past Fort Campbell and the F350 started blowing smoke real bad.....had this same situation 150,000 miles ago. The injection system is a very high pressure system that runs off engine oil pressure...it comes loose and bingo-bango you dump 75% of the oil all over the engine bay. Doesn't do and damage to 7.3 diesel. Called my friend that has a towing service and 3 hours later I was back on the road(riding in the Tow truck with the car hauler behind it). The journey is what this stuff is all about. Gott home in time to take the wife to dinner.
Now to the good stuff: car has a da*n bowtie motor in it(I am flexible aren't I)
350 .030 over 4 bolt main
double hump heads
somewhat radical cam
Edelbrock tunnell intake with 2 holly 4bbls
chromed to the hilt
350 turbo tranny
Ford 9" rear YEA!!!!!
Dropped tube front axle single transverse leaf springs
Kinda maroon/burgenday with silver metal flake(sorry counselor not British Racing Green)
White roll and tuck interior
295R 50 x15 on the rear/real skinny 16' on the front
Gas tank is maybe 8-10 gal
That is about all I can tell you about....oh yow...seller said be real careful with it 'cause it has tendency to pull the front wheels on the 1-2 shift.
Now lets see if you can guess
I will get some pics as soon as I get it out of the trailer this afternoon.
Oh yeah it is real loud.

He said 2 seater, but if it's a gasser then the back seat would be out & it would be a 2 seater. :D He tried to trick us didn't he Tom? But you were on to him. One of my favorite all time drag cars is a 40 Willy's Gasser. Love that look. Saw 2 neat ones @ Frog Follies this last summer.

You all getting closer...Dave: I was at Frog Follies last year..wish I knew you were going we could have met at my house...it is on the way..lets look at a plan for this year. I went to look at the "for sale" area as I was looking for a donor for my stroker motor...no luck..however I did see what I wanted and that is what I bought that nobody can figure out.
Day after I won the bid on eBay I found the donor car!!!!!Wife is really gonna be upset now.
Found a '81 Foxbody Mustang that is supposed to be rust free...going to look at it soon.

Man Oh Man Mikey you sure know how to get yourself in trouble with the wifey poo. Only guy I know that can top you in that department is the guy typing this.:p Danny & I went to Frogger last year. OK Tom he says your close. Hone in on this guy. I love the gasser look. If Mikey got got a gasser I'm gonna be jealous. I was looking @ a buy on Ebay about 6 mos. ago that had my glands salavating. It was a 66? VW on a 57 chevy frame with mouse motor, flared fat rear fenders, etc. But it looked like a money hole & I didn't trust the seller after I talked to him over the phone & he failed to honor my request for title work, & receipts.

Wife says we dont communicate...I do but I just forget to say it out loud after I have rehersed it several times. I try to blame it on the age thing but she doesn't buy it.

My wife says something similar, here is her take. "How is it you can get on that forum, and ask a a very technically oriented question, and within 30 minutes have all of these answers? I thought you guys were unable to communicate effectively, and here all of this time you have been fooling me?"...

Hey you originally said it is a "60's type street rod." Guess I misconstrued what you meant by that. Ok is it an Anglia? A Henry J? A Fiat? They had some really neat english stuff at the F Follies.

Sorry 'bout that Dave...what I was referring to was what we building in the '60s as out street rods. It is pre '50 and newer that a '15. Does that help any...I still haven't gotten any good pics....it is still in the trailer. Had to help at the plant today so I did'nt get it out yet. Maybe in the morning after Rotary breakfast meeting.

My guess now that you clarified, is it a '33 or '34 Ford?
