Dyno Day 4/18/15

I will go over this tonight at the meeting, but wanted to make sure everyone knows about this fun event. Every year we show up at Omer Phelps' shop for a dyno day. For $40/pull, you can see what kind of horsepower/torque you are producing at the rear wheels. It's a great baseline for finding out if you've picked the right combination of add-on's to your engine. It also allows you to see what your fuel mixture is producing at the pipes. This is helpful for engine tuning.

We will also have the scales setup. The scales will show you weights at each wheel and front to rear weight ratio. This is great to determine if your car's shocks and suspension are setup properly.

Omer will also make his lift available for those that want to get their cars up and inspected by all of us

Some great BBQ Ribs and sides will be provided. The club will provide some water and soda's, but probably best to bring some if you can.

We will start at 9am ish with the first car on the dyno. Please vote on the poll so we kind of know how many are coming. It's a great day to talk cars, ogle over others car, and just hang out. We will wrap up sometime around 3 or 4 pending how things shape up.

Soooo, what's the backup plan if it rains? (looking more and more like it will...up to 50% now).

AccuWeather is currently showing less than 10% chance of rain until 2pm. Then it jumps up to almost 50%. If true, we should be OK if we wrap up early? I know...easier for me to say since I have a top that could be put on if needed.

Gary reminded me last night that Omer has an awning that extends down the full side of his building. Several cars can park there in addition to inside. That would keep them dry but doesn't help in getting home.

Due to my tranny issue, I'll be just looking at everyone else's car. Tranny should be ready to install this weekend. If the weather changes and we re-schedule, then I'll be there with the car. It's always fun watching some of the small blaocks beat the big blocks for horsepower.

The Weather Channel shows 70+* and 20% chance tomorrow.
WeatherBug is reporting 70+* and 0%.

Channels 2, 4, & 5 all agreed rain will move in around 4 - 5pm tomorrow.

I put the Ribs out this morning to begin thawing! My plan is to have lunch ready around 11:30. Should have plenty so guests are welcome.

Ok all, unless you get up in the morning in downpour, we are going to try and get this in. Arrive early (starting at 9am) and we can get all the cars dyno'd and scaled, eat and get out of there before the rain hopefully.

Does anyone have an Infrared Thermometer they could bring to Dyno Day tomorrow?
(just want to do a quick check that all of my pipes are hot (I just feel / sounds like it's missing or something. I don't know. Maybe bad plug wire(?) I know one has a small slice, I'm going to replace soon (my wife keeps asking when I'm going to stop spending money! )
