Ok experts, chime in. At work I have a lot of generators operating at 5,000' + I'm being told that generators ordered for here in Missouri, will not work there, which I understand, but, what would need to be changed for the generator to operate there?
- No Carbs on these 50kW+ Gensets, as is normal for a diesel engine, so, you don't rejet, but, you could increase injector size and fuel supply size, right?
- Are diesel engines "timed"?
Other changes? Internal engine parts?

Thanks

You where given bad info in my opinion. Over the roads truck travel from see level to the tops of mountains all the time. A 50kw gen-set would have a turbo, so it compensates for altitude. Fuel & oil viscosity would be a variable at altitude on a fixed base set-up. If you where at 20,000 ft then a different turbo & fuel.
