I really feel for you Danny...I had a similar crash in 1983 at the old Pevely 1/8 mile dragstrip. Just remember that as sore as you feel right now...it is still preferrable to the worst case alternative.
The challenge is trying to rest and relax well enough to avoid your chest and rib muscles from tensing up from unanticipated noises, phone calls, coughing, and other surprises...The more you can mentally relax your muscles...the less pain you will have to endure. I still remember too well the discomfort from the muscle spasms. Phone calls and slamming doors were the worst.
It does... in time get better.
Hope they have you on some good muscle relaxers....
Just let your body heal and realize how many people care about you and are thinking of you daily.
