Craig's list: advertises to the local crowd - it's free, it works, and did I mention, it's free. You can upload 4 pictures with your listing. Give it a try, if nothing else, you didn't spend any money.
E-Bay: advertises nationally, you pay to insert the listing, you pay when it sells, you will most likely not sell it the first time you list it if you put a high reserve on it. The buyer will have to arrange for transportation, since most likely, they will be from out of state. Be very explicit about your listing so you don't violate any eBay rules.
I have sold a motorcycle and my previous kit car on eBay, and my wife's Honda Element on Craig's list.
You may also try Autotrader.com - but I found that to be hit and miss (mostly miss). I have only sold 1 car out of 3 I advertised on there (my 2006 mustang).
The local newspaper doesn't work. Nobody reads the classifieds anymore with the advent of the internet...you can list it on STLtoday.com (online version), but again, I could not sell any of my cars on there.
I wouldn't trade another car into a dealership...they are in it to make money, not help you out with selling your car. The have no problem walking away from your trade and the deal if you counter their price. Even with the economy as it is.
Good Luck, and let me know if you need any help. I'm not as technologically challenged as some...
