Have been a Sam's Club member forever...
Have stayed with them primarily because of the proximity of stores in Cape and So. County.

However...their prices and selection quality have really gone down hill the last few years. I am buying far more "Sam's" type items elsewhere. Seems I never find the selection, quality or bargains I used to.

It's now time to renew my Sam's card and I am considering jumping ship to Costco even though there are only Costco stores in the St. Louis Area. None South of us.

I understand their Kirkland line of batteries is good with excellent no question warranties. Tire warranties appear better as well. They seem to offer a better selection of shop tools.

Would like to hear feedback from those of you who are Costco members to either convince me it would be wise to switch...or caution me against it.

Personal favorite items would be helpful. I hear they do a good rotisserie chicken as well...:D

Opinions...???

I'm a member of both and prefer Cosco over Sam's for food selection.

Used to be a Sam's member now I go to Costco, and you heard right the chicken is good. Along with batteries a d tires they give you an extra year warranty on TV's.

I have switched to Costco. The two companies offer two different marketing philosophies.

  • Costco: Quality at a reasonable price
  • Sams: price at the expense of quality

Sorry Sam's, the cheap quality you masquerade behind a low price just leaves a bitter taste.
